Well, being stupid doesn't mean he/she cannot be sucessful. And also, we are talking about COMMON sense in many of the cases. Really, four sides in a TRIANGLE? And Yugoslavia starts with a U? This are like BASIC BASIC... It's like asking how many fingers one has and just answer with a random number instead of checking your own hand @_@b
yes it does ... i love that segment ... but somehow cannot believe how ignorant those people can be. and sometimes, you can find college graduates, which is even worst.
There are lots of these street interviews done in the US by European reporters to show how 'stupid' Americans are and yes, they do left out the right answers but it is still amazing how many people manange to come up with the most idiotic answers to simple questions. And it does give you an idea how scary ignorant some Americans can be; they don't check the facts, they just follow.
People are not stupid, they just don't know what's out there and they don't think "outside of the box" more often, which all of us should do by the way. Plus, most of the time, people usually just say things without even realising of what they are saying before saying it.

The difference between him and the guy on the clip is that Jay sometimes laughs at the idiotic answers lol he tries not to, but he cant help it lol Its been years since I've watched Jay Leno... I know.. the college graduates? I guess you'd expect them to be abit more educated...lol not always the case...

The human mind can be incredibly weak and can be strong. Such a video could be made about any group of people anywhere on this planet. Infact the human logic can be very fragile and shallow. Even the most intelligent people can do the most irrational things. That's why there are phrases like: to be ignorant is to be blissful, ignorance is bliss, the more you focus the less you know of the outside (of focussed item)......and so on. By the way, many people on various fora here on Dramasian.com are not aware of the fact that Americans do represent all races on this planet. I am not aware of a race that is NOT present in USA in significant numbers.

Well, I think you totally missed the point of the clip. It was either (1) for fun or (2) to do a reality check on the oh-so-almighty Americans. Nobody said that Americans are the ONLY stupid nationality in the world, but apparently they are quite the first to think they are clever, and when that bubble is bursted? That's where the comic value comes in. And in fact, yeah, rationality and intelligence is not exactly correlated, but intelligence is KNOWINGLY making an irrational decision, NOT making a decision with no alternative choice and THINK it is rational, that's reverse and silly thinking there. Ignorant is bliss is true, of course, otherwise the proverb wouldn't have survived the years. However, ignorant is bliss until the ignorant person retardedly killed himself/herself along with half of the world population. We don't generally CARE if someone is ignorant as long as their ignorance does not affect our personal life. And in American's case? The fact that they think it's right to randomly invade another country is the kind of ignorance we CANNOT just sit on. Lastly, your last point is totally unrelated to the clip NOR the intelligence of Americans. Not to mention the fact that I DOUBT the accuracy of your claim, if United States has within its border, people of all races, the same could probably said of Canada. And what does that fact have to do with anything again? And in case you haven't notice? Majority of the interviewed individuals are WHITE, probably middle class or higher judging from their manner or dress and talk, with a few token visible minority thrown in. So yeah, I guess the title should be "Why people think whites in America are stupid". Does that go down any better?
