should i get a cat

I've loved cats all my life
and i use to have one as a kid

i recently started living on my own (after graduating college)
and it gets kinda lonely
yes i have friends over, but it's different knowing you will be going home by yourself

get a bf some might say, but (i've been dating some guy, but he never stays over AND he's going back to HK for 3 1/2 months)


I've been wanting a cat for a while, i'm just worried about, what if i have to go out of town becuase of work?

should i not get a cat just because i dont want to be by myself
what other things should i consider before making a discision like this
(cause cats can live a long time, and i'm not going to just throw it away like a toy in a few years if so)

 

Cats are very independent, so no worries there on leaving them on their own unless you get a really small kitten... I think it'd be ok if u just leave them for 1-2 days with plenty of food/water.

And of course you gotta be prepared to take up the responsibility of feeding them; cleaning up after them.. and be ready to kiss a few of ur furniture byebye.
And u have to consider whether anyone will be around to take care of them if u are goin on holiday, stuff like dat.

Lol, i have like 5-6 cats around in my house and my dad feeds a lot more of those stray cats daily... So I definitely know sth about CATS... -devil

 

yeh id think it though....with your job and everything have you got time to play/care...which the cate needs and not to mention you'l need to walk it as well......

i've never walked a cat before, and i had one for 6 years



the thing that bothers me, is i want it declawed, but now the animal shelters make you sign something that say you will not declaw it
i mean i could go to a pet store, but that's so much more expensive, when there are lots of cats in animal shelters who also need a home
