Sammi Cheng Asks YouTube To Withdraw Her Concert Clips

Hong Kong singer and actress Sammi Cheung has asked her lawyer to send a letter to YouTube, a popular video sharing website, requiring them to withdraw video clips of her latest solo concert.

Tom.com quoted a report from the Information Times on May 22.

The pop queen last week kicked off her eight-day solo concert tour after two years away from the stage. Some fans shot parts of the concert and uploaded them on YouTube to share with other people.

Sammi's agent says that they hope to remind fans to protect copyright of the concerts.

Well she's right...I mean if after the concerts are over people put up fan videos that would be ok, but posting them before hand gives away the secrets of her shows...

why cant artists and co release official clips and stuff on youtube and get money from them

or is that already being done

then you eliminate any illegal clips and give fans what they want

  10. these are bootleg clips ...like a camcorder movie from the theater before it releases...there's no difference.
The Artist and record company gets more money when you purchase the DVD Concert....when it becomes available in stores.

    Yeah agreed.

like what Dimsum said if they embed ads onto the website or even into the parts of clips of well known songs and then put it online which discourages pirating. And then when they release the DVD they put extra features into it as give the feeling of added benefit or exclusiveness.

i think we all know that youtube is a well known site
so if they put the clips on youtube wouldnt it help to promote the concert
then more pple will wan to see the concert and they can sell more ticket

Maybe future tickets cause they took cams of her concert while the concert was taking place. One would logically think that the tickets were sold before the concert so it affects future tickets.
