Birth was an express delivery Proud ... Palak and tot Vedika Picture: DAN CHARITY SEE ALL DISCUSSIONSBy EMMA MORTON MAY 25, 2007 A BRITISH woman has amazed medics by having the world’s fastest birth — in just under TWO MINUTES. Palak Vyas’s baby girl Vedika arrived weighing a healthy 7lb 2oz — less than 120 seconds after her waters broke. There was no time for the midwife or medics to give pain relief. Proud dad Shashi, 33, said: “Palak popped to the loo and walking back her waters broke. “The midwife rushed her into a room and put her on a bed. Palak pushed once and the baby popped out. It was incredible. “Doctors and the midwife could not believe it — they said it was the quickest ever.” Vedika was born at West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth a week ago. She is the second child for full-time mum Palak, 30, and IT worker Shashi from Brentford. They have a two-year-old son called Kavish. Shashi added: “Vedika was two days overdue and it was as if she could not wait any longer. Kavish was born in just over an hour and we thought that was fast — but we were astonished by Vedika. “Palak did a lot of walking during her pregnancy and she thinks that the exercise helped the baby’s smooth delivery.” Sun expert Dr Carol Cooper said: “Most women normally have to wait for a good few hours to have their baby. “The world’s longest labour is thought to have lasted more than three days. Every woman hopes for a quick and easy birth but Palak’s case is carrying speed to extremes. “This is called a ‘precipitate labour’. The reasons include premature labour and very fit mums. Regular exercise tends to make the delivery faster.” The Vyas family have contacted the Guinness Book Of Records.
good story ... next time a woman tells you how hard it is to be in labor .. just point them here! under 2 mins and she's done! i know lots of ladies is going to kill me for this! hehe ...
lol. I believe it's all in the mind, that woman gave it in 2 minutes cause she actually wanted it out. Others take long because when we, as in men, give them our hand, they want us to suffer just as much as them.
-evil HAHAHAHA... you are quite a smart one <_< However, that's not goin to make any difference. -devil
I'm going to run on a treadmill in the months I'm being pregnant ha*! I'll beat her record! -cool2 * (that is, if I ever want a baby)
