...it's just annoying when you miss out gigs because it's already been sold out but the site of the ticketsellers keep stating there are still tix available? >.< IAMX, Editors, The Fray and now The Bravery! I've checked the availabilty just the evening before I went to the store to buy a ticket for The Bravery (saves me administration and postage fee) and they tell me it's already sold out. I'm often too early too buy a ticket ('sorry, it's not on sale yet', it's next month..) and I sometimes forget the on sale date and 2 days later everything is gone. AAAARGHH!! AAAAAAAHHH. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. -pirate (I happen to know that sometimes it's a music magazine or radio station buying the majority of the tix to give it away in a competition.)
lol u gotta be right on the ball to get tickets for big concerts. if they are sold out u can always try to get some tix from scalpers... comes at a bit of a premium but it might still be worth it. some of my dad's friends got tickets to a Lakers game from a scalper for 400 dollars and ended up with seats right at floor level behind Bruce Willis hahaha.
^ Yeah I know I can buy it from scalpers off the internet or outside the venue where they make a big profit on it but I don't want those people earning my money. :( But if those seats were at floor level right behind where the celebs are having their seats, doesn't it mean those tix are rightly valued? On a side note: Once I was queiung to get in the venue for The Mars Volta -a sold out gig- and some really desperate guys were willing to offer me 100 euros for my ticket (worth about 15 euros) , was really tempting but I'm glad I kept my ticket as it was a superb show. -cool
thats why its sometimes worth picking up an extra ticket or two if they are cheap lol, better chance ul make some money then buying a lottery ticket hahaha
yes ive experienced that before as well.....i really really wanted to see 'the killers' so i checked ticketmasters like nearly everyday till the actual sellingof the ticket day and like a few days later i realised ticketmaster werent selling them but you had to get the tickets from the actual venue...so i missed out on 'the killers' i was so gutted -doh
But that's if you know there will be desperate fans trying to get a ticket and or if you don't mind yelling: "I have extra tix, who wants them??!" -sweat @ brown_bear: He, I know it's even more difficult for peeps in the UK for getting tix for the more popular bands like The Killers yeah! You sometimes have to be 18+ and if you want to be sure to get hold of a ticket you have to book it online, hence you need a creditcard.
^mwaoh, I prefer going straight into the warm venue instead of lingering outside waiting for desperate fans...-sweat
Lol, Tax. At first I thought you were talking about missing out the boat as in you missed a chance with someone you fancied... lol Speaking of concerts, I think it's a good idea to get the tickets early so you can book the seating. But then, sometimes they do this last minute gimmick of giving discount if those tickets are not sold and u feel like u got cheated. lol
yeh though you cant always book it online until the tickets are actual available for sale...and when they are availiable the tickets go so fast....so makes it doubley difficult to book in advance....well thats what its like in uk danno about other places
^-lol Well, luckily enough the concerts I want to go have no such things as booking/reserving a seat as they're all rock concerts so everyone can fight a way to the front stage if you wanted to. But I already often feel cheated if I hear lots of other gig visitors they went in for free because they joined a competition of a magazine who gave 100 free tix away for the first 100 persons to contact them. (I was one of them once, The Bravery in 2005 huhuh) -sweat Sometimes you really need try to book tix with a couple of friends at the same moment! (helped a friend once with Radiohead touring in the UK, site was overloaded but if everyone kept trying there wa a bigger chance one will succeed)
never waste a moment if your getting tickets for popular tickets, half a day is a long time in between checking availabilty Glastonbury sold out in 90 minutes and there were 137,500 available.... that makes 1527 sold every minute
I almost mmissed out on glastonbury but i was able to get one ticket when they gave extra time to get some
So you have tix for Glasto? If yes, which bands/artists would you like to see? Neh thanks, don't fancy to walk and inhale in clouds of weed. -sick2 What's on your 'want to see' list?
Hmm these would be my line up Linkin park Foo fighters Muse System of the down Bullet for my valntine Ownage
well if you you really wanted to go its not a big deal for them to earn the extra money its like they did all the walking and waiting for you give it to them as a tip its like how they sold ps3's it sold for alot of money mainly because it was sold out and secondly its not fun sitting in front of a game store for 2 nights
