^ Yeah, but it's really handy when my HDD is full... Just transfer part of my real iTunes Library to the iPod as folders (not listenable songs) ^+++^
same here, lol. thanks for the info guys, i check it out after exams and see. i dont plan to use it often or maybe not even at all after i get the portable hd and hopefully i wont be running out of space so ofen after i a new laptop, the one i got now only got 40gb on it so im always running out and got to transfer to the external which im kinda lazy to do so cause i dont always got it plug in. it just one of those just in case things to know. -clapclap
I got a fujitsu one from HK a few years ago and it's very dependable and handy. Mine is called a USB2.0 HD external box with only 30gb. It fits into my pocket nicely and is more than enough space for me to put movies, TV series, and music on it.
i would say either seagate or western digital as they are two major brands and they are known for good hard drives for a good price of course.. however any company can manufacture poorly functional hard drives so its better if you look up reviews of each hard drive before making your decision... hope you find that hard drive of your choice
um..suppose western digital is good..although i'm a computer dummy so i dont know much about stuff like these..but my uncle uses it and says its good..so yeh..
Western digital and seagate are usually known for the best seagate are great cause they offer 5 year warranty as standard, WD do 3 years on most and 5 years on a few versions
well atm i still only haf those dodgy thin 2.5" cases dodgy as in from ebay but prev i bought samsung, cos it was the cheapest 80gb one it was like $170 for 80gb, and i ended up getting 3x of them now they all kinda feel useless ><
i want more HDD too...lol but right now i want 750 GB one tho...i already bought 80 GB first (as i cant find any bigger at the time) but then i realise that it is not enough for me so i bought another one with 400 GB (well, 357 GB as its show on my laptop) with Seagate Manufactor and it is really working fine and good with me...i think mine have build-in fan cooling so...it make even better...i hope i can find 750 GB cheap one tho...in any currentcy lol
if u want small an easy to put in your pocket ....try a Comstar 250GB USB 2.0 drive. Its a small case that has a 2.5" Notebook hard drive in it. I've been using it for the 3-months to move my large data base files to and from school. I got mine from Futureshop for $130.00
lots of online stores package enclosure and HD together and sell them as external harddrive. Aluminum for sure.
ah yeh got meself a 2.5 from HK, but only good for transporting data, you need to get yourself a 1TB external for backup
i dn't really haf anthing i "need" to backup so its ok atm... plus if that hdd dies... *sigh* i just use ty dvds =) atleast they're supposedly extra reliable! something like 100 years expected life time don't think i'd b around to test it out hahahaah
yeah sux cos it takes abt 5mins a dvd >< should invest in the 16x ty's soon.... mayb i should just build a server comp to hold a few tbs of series and music and fotos, then i don't have to burn it all off
Firewire (400) is faster than USB2 (480) even though USB should be faster So, if you want faster and better performance, go for Firewire 800
