Travel might means different thing to different ppl, coz everyone is looking for different things during that period, i'm pretty interested in what you gals/guys looking for. I have a friend who only look for shopping !!! Yes, she only travel to hong kong and thailand, do nothing but shop and shop. She went bangkok a few times, but i wonder if she had visited any of the temples. Another friend of mine like big cities, she never travel overseas because of budget constraint, but if given a chance, she would prefer to go for cities like sydney, tokyo, etc. As what she explained, she grown up in a village, so she would like to see more in the city side. I also got friends who like hiking, so he always go for water and mountains For me, I'm more into "experience". I like to experience different culture, different style, city or moutain is fine with me. I've been to a few cities, if i didnt try to learn the culture or their life style there, all the old historical buildings will look the same to me. Right now I would prefer places like turkey, tibet, etc.
Oh, what a great thread. I think I can hang here like forever The most important with traveling for me is to meet new cultures, especially in developing countries. You will keep these experience for life! Even though everything's in progress you'll learn things that you wouldn't at home. You'll realized how lucky you are and how life could be fragilely when you see kids fighting for their lifes. But of course I'm just a human. I like rock climbing, kayaking, tubing, trekking, flying foxes and mountain bicycling
No one intrested in this topic :( Well, then I just keep on for myself I love to backpack since it's economic, simple, you always meet new friends and you never need to plan anything, not even where you're going to sleep next night. A backpackers life is so great!
na uh, Candyshots lol you have to share-down... I would go for the experience as well and the shopping, of course, but def the experience, especially if it's a place I've never been to before.. The different culture, traditions, people, and scenery? How can anyone just overlook that..?
for me important is: see new places (sceneries, nature, churhes and thing like this, everything what's possible ), meet new people, new cultures..
i go for the food =) haha, and the culture ofcourse. @candyshots: a few friends and i were thinking of backpacking in a few weeks in eastern europe, but we sorta gave it up since lack of planning and decided to go on a charter trip instead. backpacking life like? do we really need to plan that much?? or just take it as it come and let the trains take us to random destinations???
Welcome Suger Hi, Xixi. I've just backpacked in south asia and all we did was to book our flight and buy a "Lonely Planet". My friends didn't even have enough of money. But they just worked as bartenders a few night and the problem was solved It depends on how you and your friends are. I traveled with a friend recently and she got freaked out for one little unplaned thing. So... But I prefer the original backpacking life style
thx for the tips candyshots =) ...feel free to share some of your stories, would love to hear them ^^
Thank you for the welcome-lol O... well when you travel like that, things happen that are unplanned at times, a lot of times actually, but that makes it even more of an experience to look back on and laugh about.
I think the most fun about travelling is when you travel for vacation instead of work. You get to escape from the daily routine; and embark on a fun-filled adventure trip or a relaxing, peaceful one depending on the type of person you are... Experiencing the different culture and lifestyle... the food; SHOPPING; taking pictures; the experience itself is very valuable When I get my own place, I might consider that home exchange plan just like the one on The Holiday... lol sounds pretty cool and a cheaper way to travel to places too. And I'll get to stay longer and get a taste of 'actually living' in the place itself.
Oh, you're so sweet. Don't forget to share you tripp with us if you are going Exactly! Every unplanned incident is special... even those bad incidents like delays and overbooked flights, as long as you don't freak out
OMG...i totally love traveling...i look for different things...like the culure of the place..the food..yumm...and the atmosphere... and the people who are very important...lol i love going to different places...my fave by far is Thailand...i just love it...
Great museums and parks. And beautiful city scape... Because all of them tell the history and possibly the potential of a city. Not quite huge on shopping, probably make sense due to my financial constrain
