It seems there have been lots of threads on how kids have such a good relationship (or not) with either the mom or dad or perhaps both. I wonder if parents ever fret about their relationships with their kids? To me it seems that my parents don't really care for details about my life but just the surface info like what's generally going on in my life. How close of a bond do you have with your parent(s)? And how would you treat your (future) kid? -huh

Lolz, I am very sure that ur parent do care for you. Its just that some parents find it hard to express themselves and they think you might need some privacy. Some kids do not like to be checked on.So, honey being a parent ain't easy for kids are tough nuts to break. Try going to them instead of them coming to you, they can't read ur mind.-flow I don know what type of parent i would be, its too far ahead for me....hahahahah...don even have bf yet....-noclue

Easier said than done. I'd try to show more affection to my children, and get them to respect me, and not fear me. I'd tell them I love them openly, and try to spare the rod as best as I could. Again...easier said than done.

lol its harsh i guess but i think my parents had me so i could work in the take away?! sounds horrid I know but I think its true. When I have kids I want them to be emotionally stable know that there is love in the family and not need to look for it else where. PS i have this idea too that when its their bday they have to make me a card or little memento to remember that I had them and it was loads of paaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiinnn but i love them for it lol is that a daft idea?????hehehe

My parents and I aren't as close as I would like. I hope my relationship with my son is better than what I have with my parents.

Most parents would want their children to be smart and loyal and educated to stand up and set a good example of how perfect their family is.

Lolz...nah not in a rush though I love kids heheheh.....Honestly, not all asian parents are strict guys...they are just rigid cause if they r too frenly, u might not take them seriously..Yeah, my parents are pretty cool, me and my parents have no generation gap at all.....I tell them nearly everything hahaehehe....I guess it takes 2 to tango, but just tat u have to be the one to invite -rolleyes

I know my parents care about me, sometimes they care so much, they wanna know so much, it even gets annoying <-- I hate myself for saying that, for not having enough patience with my parents, I know they only mean well

As for my kids, I wish I could be the coolest mom ever! lol

^whoa. the sex talk. scary. in the 6th grade, my school seperated the boys from the girls and gave us "the talk". oohh. but at the rate that our society's going nowadays, with elementary kids already having boyfriends and girlfriends, i'm sure everyone knows how babies are created -shock
