but then comp has to stay on like 24/7.....i thought it aint good to leave comp on overnight?? but why oh why....it takes so god damn long...if it was like 5 minutes sure id do it right away...but it takes like hours and hours....blehhhhhh...makes no difference anyways

defrag?! omg it literally takes 3+ hours for me!?!?!?!? so thats why i alwayts do it in the night and leave my laptop on. and i only do it hnmn... every 5 months?
my comps been on like 24/7 for the last couple of months since i've been at home i leave it on at nite to dl, wake up i can browse just gets annoying wen i need to reboot >< cos stupid s754 doesn't let me run my 1gb of ram =(
simple terms reorganise all the data back into its original order, so it can be accessed easier (ie faster) the hdd made into blocks, and wen it gets used, its not always used chronologically (in order). so defrag basically fixes it. not necessary, but its nice to have better performance =)
i hate it when my comp lags because i also feel that other people would be thinking im ignoring them or something and when im playing on online games, i lag and end up dying ¬_¬ lol
You should consider checking out how much free disk space do you have on your computer, maybe there is a virus on your computer, i recommend getting it checked by a specialist.
optimise = optimise...? =/ well its just to make wateva process more efficient, ie use less time to load/run so to u, it looks faster and not laggy =)
