any one help me how to compress file to make it smaller

can someone help me with that..i have lots of movie but most are 3.5g and it take for ever to upload...help me and ill upload good movie for u guy and girl...

 

try using HJSplit to split the videos, to individual parts..
then use an uploading website - like megaupload to upload them...that would be a good advice for you to do...

 

i dont want ppl to dl to much...just try to put up 2 file most or 1 if i could...but thanx anyway...anyone else

 

What format is it? Avi? Mpg?

 

is a VLC media file (.vob) i think is avi

 

are u using mpeg files or are the dvd rips with the original TS files?

if you are using the original dvd then u can use a piece of software called http://www.autogk.me.uk/modules.php?name=Downloads

that will compress large dvd rip files into managble smaller files more suitable for downloading

if its in another format you can look in the tech section for other software recommendations

.vob is DVD format. If you want to make it smaller you need to reencode to formats as avi, h246, etc

can someone help me get a program that convert to avi ...i want one that dont have to pay...i just dl one and convert the file but the banner was on the movie the whole time...if i cant convert it i dont want to upload the movie

 

get dvdrip somewhere. It backs up your dvd and u can set it to avi or what not and a certain file limit. Works well and wont leave u with 3.5 gig files unless u truly want that quality, but it will be a pain for ppl to dl.
