i do. i actually cooked a roast beef for my family's return from montreal while i was stuck in toronto because of work... once i get the picture, ill post it up.
maybe not meals but select items (which i don't think qualify as dishes either) such as cheese omelette and bacon. so does that count as acceptable cooking skills?
I only know some chinese dishes and a little western dishes. I'm not as good as my dad, but its edible and I haven't gotten sick so far.
I am a decent cook according to my friends... specialty includes pasta sauce from scratch (I am better with white sauce, but can work with both), a variety of Chinese soup and congee, some Chinese dish, pancake/crepe/french toast... I guess it would have been easier if the OP asked who's comfortable handling raw meat, coz most people who doesn't cook abhor touching/handling raw meat... Did I mention I am good at deboning? But I am terrible with the grill @_@b Somehow never manage to grill/smoke the meat nicely... :(
i can cook. chinese. not so much with western food since i'm not really a fan of it. also, my mom made sure i could cook. paid off now that i live on my own. i have no idea how my room mates live off of ramen and cereal.
Want to see how I debone you?? It's all the same basic principle... As for the grill, I don't handle the machine well enough to master it @_@b Me too... My ex-housemates used to steal all my leftovers when they "cook" their ramen T_T So my food bill skyrocketed... And yeah, my parents grilled cooking skills into me since I was quite young I started making my own hot, decent meal since I was in primary school...
what was even worse with my roommates, they go into my leftovers, take some and move the remaining food around to make it look like it hasn't been touched. -devil
how do u screw up cooking instant noodles? but i guess i see ur point. i once met this lady that couldn't clean a plate.
Well the thing is, those "leftovers" were neatly packed in my nukable plastic box... for my lunch the next day :( So I went without ANY lunch for an awful long time... not to mention they don't even wash my empty lunch box TT_TT @MDD & lee-lee: There's skill in cooking instant noodle but it isn't THAT difficult to acquire, said skill... So I still look down on people who only can cook instant noodle, no matter how good they can cook it @_@bbb And I cannot even begin to imagine why there are those who manage to mess up frying spam and egg (a la sunny side up or over easy)
true true true. i've perfected the art of cooking ramen without the soup. i make it as dry noodles, like chow mein....sooo good. mmmmm... if it wasn't so late, i would go make some now.
^^I liek ur SHK avie... I do cook...my whole family likes cooking... and so they teach me...my specialty is congee...lol...
Congee is quote fool-proof once you got the plain congee right... The rest depends on how fresh the "stuff" are...
no way! i totally disagree. my grandma makes the most amazing congee. she makes the most amazing congee with dried scallops and pork. i can cook congee and it NEVER comes out tasting like hers.
