slow? maybe you are too fast and careless of a reader. you even quoted me. i bought up the post, b/c hiake wanted to see where you made obscene-languaged post. i even remarked with a "but it is okay now". to show that you apologized for it. "As usual, you are SLOW" what is the point making that statement. it seem like you want to make some cheap jabs.
That's right... I DID NOT. I guess he was just trying to find a way to make me look bad? -blush Good advice. With his kind of attitude, (ie dismissing others who are not in the same boat as him and believing he's the rightful one as always) that kind of attitude, won't last you in the States, let alone if you ventured outside of your own little comfort zone into the real world; work, school or otherwise.
Nope I wasn't referring to THAT post of yours. I am referring to WHY you did bring it up in the first place I wonder??? taking into account that MY APOLOGY was made on the same day a few posts right after post #195...? "Want to make some cheap jabs"?! Lol, funny, that's exactly how it reflects you as one... when you brought that issue up!
WHAT? do you know me? have we met before? YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME AND WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH. SO WHO ARE YOU TO SAY " ... won't last you in the states." I grow up with my brothers on the street of east la alone. so, DON'T TELL ME WHAT KIND OF ATTITUDE I SHOULD HAVE TO SURVIVE IN THIS DAMN WORLD. BECAUSE YOU KNOW SH*T ABOUT ME. religion was my only refuge and God saved me. so who the hell are you, to tell me what I should and should not do.
No, i have not met you neither have I known what you went through. But given your attitude in this section and multiple times of encounters from your postings, I deem that attitude as NOT fit to be able to survive in the outside world. That's entirely MY OPINION that this kind of attitude ie the two conclusions I have come up with, do not last you anywhere, in the States or any part of the world. Could it be that's WHY you are having so much problem to 'survive in this damn world'??? I wonder.
again you make your assumptions without valid proof. i went from having to live with gang members and cocaine-addicted harlots to uptaining my BA in mathematics. so, what is the problem with my attitude? do not place me in your comfortable view of a closed-mind Christian. i don't apprecipate that. as you won't apprecipate me thinking of you as some fobby asian-chick that lives in the m'asia.
i like big butts and i cannot lie. <.< >.> *runs away* -lol was bored. this thread seemed like the perfect place to do it -lol
Why didn't you turn to Buddhisme instead? As far I know that's something to improve yourself. Christianity is something for the kwailoo's. Maybe you didn't have the chance like kontradictions, but I just want to quote him: ...there are more ways to keep you out of trouble...
LOL, my assumptions? Hell no. I made my CONCLUSION based on the numerous postings you made on PA, which to me, would be a reflection of how you think and act in the real world. And what, living with 'gang-members' and 'uptaining' you mean obtaining right, your BA in mathematics, does not mean you have the 'rightful' attitude to survive in this world, unless you chose to live the hard way of course, and be as despicable as possible to the rest of us. We are trying hard to point out your mistakes but instead no, you try your best and go out of your way to try and make others look bad, trying to find some non-existing 'flaws' in others, trying to attack me by bringing up issues such as me using profanities, me 'misquoting' MG's sig, me making a reference to you in my sig, etc etc. which I have laid it out to the rest of us here and they can be the judge of what is 'rightful' or wrong... LOL. Close-minded Christian.. Yep that's the word I am looking for, thank you for bringing that up. Seriously, what YOU think of ME, won't matter much to me... LOL. you can go ahead and voice it out if you want, I have never even thought of any of your opinion of me would be favorable ones indeed, being the way you are and the way you think. I am just stating my opinion that your kind of attitude won't last you long in this world. Or more appropriately, would make life really difficult for you.
OH NO! Tax, do you realize what you just did??? Suggesting to him to turn to Buddhism!!! -shock Omg, i seriously pray that he won't take offense to that... LOL. Oh on the other hand, HE has countless of times, suggested people to convert to Christianity... HMM. That would warrant him NOT to get offended at your suggestion, wouldn't it??-whistle
rite, i didn't turn to buddhism. b/c in my area there were centralized christian programs running. so, in a desperate need, i turn to that. anyways, the main reason why myself and many, many, many, other Christians as well, towards to Christianity is b/c God spoke. Now, I'm not stating that God "spoke" to me (like literally verbally, physically spoke to me), however, there was a presence I could not describe that brought me ease and peace. for the first time ever, i kneel and pray and ask forgiveness. And He really open my eyes to see a way out. now, if i was born in a buddhistic culture, then i probably turn to a devoted buddhist. but i probably change my religion. i not saying that now, b/c i am a christian now, or that i don't like buddhism. i do, i think it is good way to live one's life. however, in christianity, it provide more than "what meets the eye" it give a relationship (a postive and encouraging) relationship between us and God. And that cannot be found in any other religion expect for Christianity. lol. too much mushy stuff.
um... im sorry to bud in, but its kinda weird how you said valide proof.... weve been trying to say for a long time that the Bible itself isnt a valid proof.. transmitted stories... unvalidated events... youre in math, you know how events must also be validated with proofs, not stories passed on from generation to generation until the gutenberg's print... im sorry about your past, but even as a mathematician, you have to have proofs right? i recall in my first year math course on proofs.. there are many ways to prove something.. the same can be said with statements.. you must have multiple proofs for a claim, and that comes from my courses in research.. the Bible simply doesn't cut it for us non-believers... sorry dude.
No, wait.. How MUCH do you know about other religions/beliefs? Seriously, like HOW MUCH? Have you read up on the Islam religion? Have you read up on the Buddhism beliefs? Have you touched on the Hindu religion??? AND VARIOUS OTHERS ??? HOW WOULD YOU KNOW, for a FACT, that is, that other 'religions' or beliefs do not TOUCH on the relationship of God and mankind?! Now, now this is what I would call ignorant. Making a claim that isn't even true. If you have indeed followed my postings on Buddhism, they explained on how we came into being, our purpose on this Earth, what God is and everything else. Our 'relationship' with our Overselves and our Greater Overself. Is that NOT 'relationship' in your eyes? How about the Islam religion, worshipping ALLAH as the Almighty? Is that NOT a relationship? Geez, again, you have just strengthened what my conclusion of you is... and totally justified. -whistle
lol. no need to apologize, dann. the Bible isn't as errant as one may think. yes, there isn't any orignial texts that has survived or founded yet. however, that doesn't mean it would be false. true, there are many methods of validation and proofing for any given problem. and some may only need one validation and they believe and some takes more. i'm presuming you are one of those people. well, the OT (old Testment) is maintained and keep up from the Jewish culture. so, to accuses OT to be inaccuracy and false. is an insult not only of the Christian, but for the Jewish ppl as well. and the NT (new Testment) it was kept up to date with copying of the orignial letters and etc. the very first NT was the KOINE BIBLE. this was in circulation around 52AD, just 19 years after Jesus Christ was crucified and arisen. and since then the accuracy of the new testament is far more consistent than most secular works produced before or at that time. http://www.carm.org/evidence/textualevidence.htm
But these christian programs love the desperate kind of people! -what? They love the weak ones as they're the most easy to convert by offering new hope. It's the easiest way to believe there's something more in life than the life on earth because you give the responsibility away. You got injured in a car accident? It's a test of god. You got robbed by criminals? It's a test from god. You can't hardly pay your rents/mortgage and your food? It's because god is testing your faith. If you pass for his tests and behave according to his rules, you'll be rewarded with a place in heaven. Sounds much better than: every bad thing in life that overcomes you is just the plain reality in which probably yourself, a bit unluckyness (if that's a word) , faith, and other people trying to make life harder for you.
A Christian's personal relationship with Christ is different than any of the other religion. This personal relationship is defined by "Regeneration", where the Holy Spirit comes and lives within the Christian. This "regeneration" allows the Christian to have, in some sense, a part of holiness and righteous from God. that doesn't mean we don't sin or commit wrong. however, it means that our views are no longer of ourselves. so when we do sin and do commit wrongs, the Holy Spirit will urge us to correct ourselves, apologize & help the hurted, and make this world a better place to live in. in another sense, regeneration to a believer is the indweltment of God; therefore, changing, and enabling him/her to understand world through God's eyes and p.o.v.
I think it's relevent to post this so here you all go -- The self proclaimed "Internet Sacred Text Archieve". http://www.sacred-texts.com/ <- This page seems to have almost everything a person could be interested in. Drools.. =D
im not saying its false, nor will i ever say it is. but you have to agree that there is a percentile of inaccuracy in anything that is passed on.. let me explain. you know the game "pass it on"? say there is a line of 10 people, and one person at an end was told something, and passes on to the other, and so forth. by the time it reaches the last person, it turns out to be completely different from what was told at the beginning... if writings from the OT or the NT was passed on from generations to generations, there must be inaccuracy somewhere along the storytelling... as we cannot go back to the pass and check the whole line of passed on writings of the OT or the NT, there must be a chance of change in the story, after 2 millenniums..
So let me try to comprehend your understanding of 'relationship with God'. First it claims that EVERYONE is born with sin. That implies that everyone is 'dirty' am I right? Then, it went on to say that because of what Jesus did, ie died for the 'sins', past AND FUTURE ones, ANYONE who embrace Christianity would be cleansed automatically of their sins (which they inferred upon us in the first place). So in other words, your 'regeneration' theory is that 'auto-infer' sin theory and 'auto-cleansing' theory right? Interesting relationship indeed.
It is indeed the perfect place to do it I am sure the public will be the judge of who's rightful or else. But I thought in the thread "Open-minded Christian", someone said that it is an oxymoron (not exact words, but)... There's no open-minded Christians... I hope he doesn't, seeing how he is poisoning the well for Christianity... No it wouldn't, but as a Buddhist you should worry about the prospect of the belief getting bad rep... Bottom line: It's a BELIEF, not a FACT. It's fact for them because they feel the presence of their hypothetical God and whatnot, which to bystanders (like me) is just delusional talk (seeing that no, I haven't feel the presence of God and no, he never try to convince me of his existence)
