recently i've been hearing asian guys call other asian guys "niggers" all the time. just wonderin, do the black people in your area still get offended when they hear people of other races use that word? or do they no longer consider it an insult?

I hear Asians and Latinos use nigga all the time, and this in front of blacks and they all seem to be cool with it. I think the word has been molded into something other than a racial slur, but of course it becomes a racial slur the minute a white person says it-- not even Eminem uses it, and he's the blackest white dude I've ever seen.

"blackest white dude". anyways, racial derogatory words such as nigger and chink are well, kind of like saying f***. they are the worse deragatory words you could say. except for the fact that society and media in general have all downplayed the meaning behind the word so everyone thinks it's okay to say those words, when it's actually supposed to be very insulting. it's like how a majority of people don't speak the English language (as my English teacher said) because they can't speak it properly; therefore, people not really speaking it at all. just because the impact of the words have been downplayed, it still is just as bad, IMO, to say them.

Guess it all comes down to how close you are with black friends. A lot of them dont mind since its part of the "ghetto style" speech.
I wonder why black ppl get so offended when they hear nigger/nigga when it's only a word... they even get offeded when spanish speakers call them "negro" which is spanish word for black man or someone who's dark skinned. Azn's get called "chino" all the time no matter if ur chinese, jap, or korean.. as long as u got the slanted eyes.. We dont go arguing with ppl about the word? I think it depends on the circumstance, the environment you're into, your friends and in what context you use the word 'nigger/nigga'.
