u need a video card with s-video output and u need a s-video cable. and then you need the sound to go over as well. change your tv to s-video input, and change your pc settings to project more than just your monitor.

lol there is a tech section for this kinda thing

    but w/e

    1) what type of cable are you using?
    2) what type of videocard are you outputting from?
    3) are you using a fairly new TV?

connect all the cables prior to starting your computer and turn the stuff on and then go to your desktop preferences or settings or whatever and make it project to second monitor or tv screen.

why would u need a TV card?... any relatively new graphics card should output S-video

well does your tv have an s-video first??

if so all that should be done is plug in both (while the laptop is OFF) and then switch tv on, laptop on

theres an option for my nvidia card(7800) to force TV detection, if it doesnt do it auto

Does your TV support S-Video in as well as RCA in? If so, connect the S-Video cable to both your computer and the TV and then look for a button that resembles a TV. This would usually require you to hit the function key, if you're on a laptop. If you're on a desktop, right click on the desktop and it should take you to the display properties. Click the settings tab it should allow you to choose whichever monitor to display from. Just switch to the secondary display and that should work. Also you might want to purchase a coaxial to RCA cable for your audio connection. This is relatively inexpensive. I actually bought one of www.tigerdirect.com for under $10.

What kind of laptop do you have? There should be a key on the keyboard that allows you to switch between display outputs. It should look something like a monitor and you might have press the Fn key to activate the key

i hav both a laptop and a pc.
the laptop i know how to set up with the projectors etc.
it's the pc that's haviong a problem. when i go into the properties where u choose the dual, clone, etc. it doesn't hav the tv detected so it doesn't even have that option available.
i've just been using the rca because i don't hav an svideo cable.. but i think i might need to get one soon to see if that works...

Yeah the S-Video cable should work, that I know for sure. I've been using a shuttle PC as an entertainment center and it's been running through the S-video cable. I have some extra S-video cables I can send to you if you're willing to pay the shipping cost.
