See the picture in full size At first glance it looks like it's just somebody having a little fun with Photoshop, but this is for real: a new six-wheeled sports car from Italian automaker Covini Engineering called the C6W that they're claiming is the first of its kind. Why the extra wheels? Besides the usual macho stuff of feeling superior to all the losers with four-wheeled cars, having four wheels in the front is supposed to improve traction by reducing lift and make it easier to take corners. Isn't this something great.....but will it as better than the normal usual car?
The wheels might give extra traction on curves but will increase the weight. The look itself it not impressive at all. :(
i cant imagine how having extra wheels will make it corner better, it wont be as agile as a 4 wheeler it also looks ugly as hell
ugly+more weight=wheels get slashed -> replacement tires ->more money wasted -> then get slashed again xD. but gotta see it in action to see how it performs first. still ugly as hell tho.
looks really similar to the koenigsegg swedish car... but hey, the six wheeled F1 version kicked butt though, so who knows how well this car would do
Wow, I've seen this two or three years ago, posted on my college forum. I'm suprised some of you are just hearing about it for the first time. Personally, I would get a Tesla over this car. Tesla is the electric sports car that can do 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds. Instant torque since it's 100% electric, uses no gas at all. Very sporty, give or take about 300 miles per charge, down side is that it takes 3 hours to charge
Agreed on the ugly part. But more wheels means more contact with the road. More contact, more traction (generally speaking). If designed right, it wouldn't be any less agile. After all, there's still only 1 steering wheel to turn those 4 wheels.
hmm, i remember reading one science magazine about how cars in the future are legos. Can be stretched and contract. What's more there is a picture of a bottom and top levels family guy. Looks good.
