hmmmm that... i dunno which one.. well i will kinda tell u my malaysia recipe for it... (chi chong) ehehhe n mine's steam(boil) the white ones not the roasted ones ok... u need - 1 whole chicken.. un chopped.. but all clean n nice nice... ginger... spring onions... rice... butter garlic salt n peppa water chicken stock (optional) big pot cut slices of ginger..(i cant tell u how many pieces cos depending on ur chicken size) estimate... n take some spring onions n tie them into knots... use a little salt n peppa rub the inside of the chicken and stuff the chicken with ginger n spring onions... (all i can say.. stuff it maybe half full? spring onions definately more than ginger *if u dont like ginger then u can reduce to a minimum) boil water chuck in some salt.. n the chciken cube (make sure its boiling hot) with the bubbles wot i do... u can just ignore me.. but i dip the chicken in boiling water n remove it n dip n remove a couple of times until i see the skin like kinda cook... then i reduce the fire/hotplate temp to low... like u'll see the water almost bublling but wont bubble at all... but its still hot.. then chuck the chicken in n close the lid.. use that low fire to slowly cook the chicken.. might take aroun 30 mins depending on the size of chicken.. *always rememebr not to boil.. or else chciken will be very "hai"* *to check.. put a skewer thru the biggest part of the tight.. if there's no blood or minimal amount of blood.. then its done then for rice... wash ur rice... then peel some garlic... n smash them a little.. like use the flat of the knife to kinda *pak pak* n a little ginger n spring onions... (rough guide) 2cups of rice to maybe 3slices of ginger.. 5/6cloves of garlic and maybe half of the whole spring onion plant? (cooking rice) u put some butter (maybe like2 tbs?) i dunno.. well.. u put the butter.. semi melt.. add ur garlic n ginger...fry fry till fragant then add spring onion also fry fry... then add ur rice(the uncook rice) fry fry.. u will know how much butter u need cos ur rice should turn semi yellowish.. like a very very light yellow colour overall.. then fry fry.... then if u use those rice cooker-transfer to the rice cooker and add the chicken water (the water u cooked the chicken with) to cook the rice... or u can just cook the rice in the wok or pan u were fryin the rice with... thats done... oh n u wanna make the chilli sauce.. or else not nice... take some fresh red chillis.. u can just blend it... then add some salt.. a little lemon juice a little ginger n garlic(portion maybe chilli:g&G like 5:1) Little then blend blend... add sugar n salt to taste... finish ehhehe gosh.. u better thank me by MAKING it!! it was hardwork typing !! -tongue2 enjoy -innocent
