i find that stuff like music and movies are the same price...but i heard shoes and clothing is at least 10 times cheaper in HK than in NA and its suppose to be the exact same piece...it's A 货
Depending on where you shop. If you shop in Hong Kong non-discriminately (no price-comparing and such like), the price are pretty much the same. Of course, if you are talking about street vendor clothing items, it will be cheaper in Hong Kong (since you don't really find street vendors in NA) but the rest are pretty much similar. The killing thing in NA is the tax. Without the tax, it's not THAT much of a difference. And with counterfeit luxury goods, it's expensive to ship to NA, not to mention the risk of being discovered and fined, that's why it's more expensive in NA than in China or Hong Kong (in fact, I think it's more expensive in Hong Kong than in China already)
So I guess one would be paying the extra for shipping if they buy those counterfeit luxury goods in NA? -whistle
if hk ppl is paid less, doesn't that mean it cost more for hk ppl to buy american clothes than it is for american ppl to buy american clothes??
for me in the UK, i can make a killing in HK £1 = HK$15, then minus VAT (17.5%) and low cost living in HK, everything in HK is cheaper example, a pair of Lacoste trainers, UK = £60, HK = £30 (and thats no sale or discount ) but thats the UK and HK, but i reckon it should still be cheaper in HK yes i believe so, i mean levi jeans cost like HK$600-700, and thats a lot for many HKers for just one purchase
Hmmmm, no, because they adjust the price accodingly (for some brands) So the price would be slightly lower (not to mention there's no sales tax in Hong Kong) in Hong Kong... Yet, if you earn your salary in Hong Kong, and spend it there, even with the same job, chances are you are less likely to be able to afford many things (in comparison to earning in say UK or US then shop in Hong Kong)
i heard Mieu gai......like the series Hacken Lee was in about chiuchou ppl.....the conterfiet there is pretty high end, you cant tell the differnce and if you say something bad, they'll threaten you
aiya.. ok, think about it.. lets say you want to buy stuff like american eagle.. ae is american brand, right?? and then salaries are obviously not the same for hk and america.. let say avg salary for hk is 1500usd/month and america is 2500usd/month in america, they already set the price for ae clothes and that is how much american ppl buy them for.. hk will not only have to pay the same, but they will also have to pay for the import tax to buy them.. there is no free trade agreement with asia and america.. ultimately, that means it is more expensive for hk ppl with 1500/month salary to buy 100usd of the same clothes than it is for american ppl with 2500/month salary
so if we buy HK stuff here, we pay the shipping fees (techinically), and then pay fees to get our stuff...but then it's made in china...so it should still be cheaper lolll
there's no market for hk stuff in america.. for example, there is no bossini here.. so hk stuff doesn't really apply, unless is those pirate vcds lol.. there's a lot of places that sell that in los angeles chinatown that come from hk.. other than that, nothing lor and think about those japanese dolls like mashimoro or hello kitty whatever.. they market those prices in america for at least 3times as much.. for a 60 dollar doll here, it costs only like 20bucks in japan.. and is only as big as a bag of potato chips -tongue2-tongue2-dead-dead
