Say NO to United Nations' abolishment of Traditional Chinese

    I think it is about cutting bureaucratic costs at the UN....they must provide translations in o_O many languages....TC and SC = double work... using just SC>> saving money...I think

    i haven't been making a living using chinese but i figure if i were to write a 3000 word report or a 500 page prospectus, it would be sweet to use simplified....but i find it hard for them to "abolish" it anyhow....

    It depends on the target audience of your report/prospectus, I can assure you less than 25% of Hong Konger are familiar with simplified characters enough to read a book or report...

    Their abolishment is like ignoring or erase a whole nation and his culture, history and traditions.

    ... i jsut learned traditional .... they are FUC*inG tripping if they think ima try to learn simplified now......... why cant we start by abolishing old english.... i mean no one uses it.....n then Latin .... now no country even uses latin....

    Hmmmm, I am quite sure that Old English and Latin is NOT on UN's official languages shortlist, not 100% certain though.

    Personally? I know people who have certified fluency in Latin, who knows what that is good for (but apparently it makes learning Latin-base languages a breeze)
