Whoa my friend just told me this. it's also a reason like this that the insurance companies charge us more because they think young ppl are reckless drivers. Who's the loser in all of these? Us, the law-abiding citizens. btw we should write to our MPs regarding this matter. the more the better because they will have to do something about it.
yah, southern california (LA, San Bernardino area) and Sacramento area has it worst by far. there was in even a sting operation over here by where i live where they spent 3 days pulling over any and all cars that are suspected to be modified, ticketed, and sent to the state ref. for smog inspections. this was of course when fast and furious 3: tokyo drift came out.
ya, poor truck driver, but the guy who was swirving was a total idiot, but anyways, so modded cars are going to be crushed without any reason...thats how they changed the rules......they dont need permission or proof..it's dumb....and cars like civic and lancer are made for modding....plus the new 2007 lancer is street legal, but the govt wants it off the market......
hmmm looks like every single Subaru STi, Lamborghini, Ferrari, M Series BMW, and AMG built Mercedes should be crushed according to this rule. Along with all those 16 year old kids with their Corollas and Civics with big wings and chrome hubcaps. Anything that might be used for street racing... looks like we are all gonna haveta go back about 100 years and start riding bikes and taking rickshaws again. fucking win.

The government = cocks. This is just going to usher in an age of sleeper tuning. Subtle bodykit modifications that look like they could be OEM, and huge power under the hood minus the large, loud exhausts... Meh, atleast the first cars to go will be all those flamboyant rice mobiles.
wow.. that is drastic.. it is a very idiotic way of the toronto to do that.. ban all modified cars.. afftect alot of innocent people.. >.< but if you think about it the other way.. it can also affect alot of real car racers that are causing trouble.. hopefully they will learn from this lesson.
Blaming modded cars is like saying "people don't kill people, guns kill people". While we're at it, they should ban all sharp utensils, what if someone uses it to stab someone and kill them later on? It must be the utensil's fault... A lot of governments don't understand that people that have the itch to race will race in anything they got. They will race in their grandparents' 85 Lincoln if that's all they had access to. To Adrian, do you think people who street race for money will stop? Because I don't, they will just buy the fastest stock looking car they can afford and throw hidden mods in there.

well, I think it CAN be stopped if the proper measures are put in place. i.e. jail time if caught street racing. cars can be modified while still looking stock. like a nitrous oxide tank in the truck, with a hidden button in a panel. The thing about destroying the cars is that it is a deterrant for street racing.
