Not really necessary, just get Knoc to remove the offtopic postings, clean some things up. (once a while we must give him something to mod) Ok boys and girls, this is getting out of hand with that evil/kawaii things, just a little offtopic is ok but lengthy offtopics are a big nono. -nono Don't post a reaction on my reply, just keep going on with the Durian subject otherwise I will ask Knoc to remove this whole thread to the offtopic section.
I think I know why... lauleens are heaty stuff... That's why, must drink a glass of salt water to wash down the heatiness -^_^
I don't know, salt water is known to reduce heatiness. If you have ulcers, it helps to gargle with salt water. http://integricity.com/fanaticalvoices/2006/200608.html Haha, this guy even mentioned it in his article. "Here’s a tip: Durian is a heaty fruit. To reduce this heatiness fill the empty durian shell with salt water and drink the water. That helps."
Yeah, but ulcers don't necessarily mean 'heatiness'. The reason for using salt water on ulcers is it helps to dry the ulcer faster...
is it?? i tot using salt water is actually to clean the wound... ? no? cos ur oral cavity contains heaps of different micro. so when u get an ulcer..usually cos by a mild herpes simplex virus.. u use a disinfectant... err i dont know... well.. we (wot i learn in school) dont believe that ulcers of the mouth are caused by 'heatiness'...
Wait a minute, I didn't mean ulcers are caused by heatiness. Just that gargling with salt water helps with the ulcers.. that is besides the point that salt water also helps reduce heatiness.
ooopps heheh my bad my bad... was skim reading a lil.. just saw drey saying that ulcers does not mean heatiness... heheh cos i dont think ulcers got anything to do with heatiness... err maybe not from the "sai yi" point of view... ehhehe lol.. i need to sleep.. heehhe the flight was terrible... oh oh.. rain jie jie wanna cheng me eat steampot? lol... i cheng u eat dinner... omg.. my dad bought so many durians at home.. n when i entered the house.. it was like.. ewwwwww>.<
hmmmm.....sure is a 'heat' fruit..it could sure cause heatness .... and thats really a bad point of this fruit... heatness noo good: could cause the previous mentioned 'dental' probls....(ulcers...fei chi in canto?) but it can also cause fever and other sickness... I heard about the 'salt water' solution, in combination with eating lychees....also a known heatness maker!! But why it helps..no idea ..... hmmm.....after all those years, nobody has come up with a solution for those poor people who think durian stink.... they cannot smell or tast durian like other people (something genetic ?)
it totally depends on my mood sometime i would b like GET IT OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW!!!!!!!!!!! but... sometimes i just eat it lol
hmmm dont think so its genetics.. cos i used to love it thou.. the smell...taste..texture...everything n then suddenly.. well ofcourse not over one night... but like after some years.. i tend to find it repulsive-->esp the smell
whoo...I didn't know such change was possible!!! so u completely hate it now? whoo....mayb..some could have it the other way round -ohmy and suddenliy like it!!
i think so... i guess there could be some ppl who hates lau leen now might like it later... hmm u can say i completely hate it now... but then cos my parents love it..esp my dad.. i have to eat it once it a while...-^_^
then...it isn't prob. genetics... but : 'just between your ears' >> dutch expression u think u don't like it, so u don't like it ???
hmm no.,.. i wish i think i love it ehhehe.. i dunno... whenever i smell it.. i feel sick.... like on the point of puking ehehhe but after eating it then its not so bad ehheheoh well i think its all in my head ehhehe
You sure ulcers are caused by herpes simplex? As far as I know, herpes simplex causes cold sores, which are found on the lip and the surroundings. Disinfectant doesn't help. You'll need a course of acyclovir to get rid of it, and it's recurrent. Most of the ulcers in the mouth are called aphtous ulcers...they are of unknown cause, can be precipitated by stress as well.
