From AP: MONROE, La. - While Wal-Mart is known for dropping its prices, one West Monroe man took the ad campaign seriously when he dropped the price of a plasma television from $984 to $4.88. Police arrested Chandon L. Simms, 23, on Tuesday at the retail store on a charge of felony theft. According to police reports, Simms carried a 42-inch Sanyo Plasma TV to a self-checkout aisle after switching the original price tag of $984 with one for only $4.88. Wal-Mart Loss Prevention officers witnessed the alleged transaction and called police. When the store officers stopped Simms on his way out the door, he produced a receipt for a television purchased at the West Monroe Wal-Mart, authorities said. Simms told officers that he purchased a TV from the West Monroe store and planned to returrn that one and keep the one he purchased for only $4.88 from the Monroe store. He was then arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center.
when i used to work at tagert, this would always happen. funny thing is, it is moms with a baby in a stroller doing this. they would change tags on clothes mainly and other things.
shouldn't allow expensive things for self checkout or something like that but shit like this happens alot back then, but i don't think too much now.

true.. i guess.. i mean, theft is still theft.. i'm not really a fan of walmart though.. they have a pretty long history, like several decade.. and they don't reat their workers very well, including the ones who manufacture many of thier products in non us countries
yeah heard walmarts treats their employees like crap, but anyways i'm still wondering why would they let someone self checkout a plasma tv that big lol or even put it in their cart and take it to the outside counter instead of making them pay for it at the electronics department, cause i doubt people will walk around shopping after they have a plasma tv in their carts.
Dont think so, its the individual's fault when they cant be honest. Nothing can force you to do something you dont want to do.
