Its about Canada becoming an independent country that was still under British control. Yay for us!!! Basically its the day we started to say "**** you brits "
ahh .. icic. thanks, so it's the Independence Day of Canada. very cool. lol. 178 days and 91 years after, America says, "**** you, brits." -thumbs up- way to go, Canada.
thats a pretty innaccurate statement... canada is kinda still a british colony.. we still recognize the queen as head of state. we have yet to become 'independent'
we have become independent. It's just that we still recognize the queen. But the brits can't control what we're doing.
We recognize her as head of state, but she holds no real power at all. If you think about it how many of our bills have been rejected by the Queen? But we really didn't become independent until after WWI. And to answer the main question of this thread. I might go to my friend's house for some fireworks. Hopefully nothing bad will happen this time .
haha .. so true. plus, a lot of college students uses wikipedia as their "reliable" source. lol. funny, eh?
funny when they put it in their 'works cited' section and their prof gives them a 0 on their paper... yeppp
