Comparison of Our Sun to the Largest Known Star

    our sun is so small!!!
    how do they figure out how big the star is? it's gotta be heaps far away!!

    lol i thought the sun is the big one and i was scrolling the whole picture looking for the star...

    lol...the sun is pretty small. And earth is even small. This gives me the feeling that the universe/existence just gets smaller and smaller/bigger and bigger , like earth and other things in outer space are like molecules of water or compounds or watever elements exist on earth. Meh sorta didnt make sense, oh well... that STAR IS HUGEEEEEEE!!!

    another amazing discovery by the astrologists...found an article about VY canis majoris...it says although the size is 1/2 million greater than the sun we couldn't see its light because it's overshadowed by a cloud of smoke created by the star itself...if this star is ever appears it would be interesting to see lol...apparently the existing telescpoe isn't powerful enough to see it...

    How would the scientists be able to estimate its size when it cant even see it?

    ^^toasted? no it won't...if's so far away....and they measure the size by the amount of heat radiating the earth...

    hmm.. tats a red giant then.. probably younger than our sun? stars shrink as they age.. haha.. hopefully i didnt get my facts wrong..

    ^^^i don't think is the star itself shrink.. but is the energy that become weaker.. and after the energy is finish, there is nova, a large explosion
