    To be fair, if I were to make congee for my close friends, I don't expect a "thanks" from them.

    I have a bunch of friends that I known for 18 years. Most of the times we like to bicker and bitch to each other. Like if one person go to buy drinks, we would sometimes go "and you didn't even open the drinks for us". and the friend would reply "f%^k you".

    no no no
    cook out the ginger flavor, then take it out
    then they are stuck eating this awful ginger flavor, but they can't find the evidence to yell at you about

    actually the same with me
    my Ex said something to me before "if they are truely thankful, they dont actually have to say the words out loud for you to know that they are thankful"
    which is true, when my friends say "SO DELICIOUS" to my cooking, i take that as more gratitude than a polite thank you
    I feel the same way about the word Sorry too, one friend always says it with no feeling, so you know it's just being polite
    and another friend one time did something bad and REPEATEDLY kept saying it, i told him to stop talking, not because it was annoying, but i could tell he felt extremely bad as it is and i didn't want him to feel like he was inconvienting me with his problem but more for him to focus on us fixing the problem

    do these few act the same way to other people?
    it might be a personality problem

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    my advise, before you follow what everyone is saying and go and ditch your friends
    at least try to talk to them about it first
    after a bit of fighting and that all calms down
    if they dont get better after an honest talk
    THEN you can ditch them
    but they might not realize what they are doing, because they are so use to it
    just treat people the way they treat you. seriously if people treat you like crap then you shouldn't treat them any nicer. If you are feeling sad about your friends bitching at you, then you should just do something about it. Being passive and not speaking up about it won't do anything to help.
    Yeah, what do you mean by friends? Friends aren't forever...almost always.
    Just keep the ones you treasure close to you and avoid those who hurt your feelings.
    At some point or another, even good friends hurt each other, guess it all comes down to what you want out of the friendship.
    thats RIGHT! i had friends in the past, they stab me in the back, it hurt, i learn from my mistake.
    friends are usually people you can trust and feel comfortable around to be yourself and have a laugh.
    acquantances are people yoiu probably see day to day, say hi, how are you and bye to.
    i could say i probably have only two people i can probably count as one of my proper friends who i know will be there for me through thick and thin. hell he actually stuck by me when i was really upset even when he had a girlfriend, so i know he wont ditch me even when he has another girlfriend. lol
    then theres my boyfriend currently, i wont need to say any more aside from even in my biggest crisis of my life so far, he stuck by me no matter how tough it got, so i love him very much for that.
    they are not friends, now dont take this in a literal sense, but have you ever heard the line "most girls have a fat ugly friend to make themselves look better"
    NOW berry, im NOT saying that you are fat OR ugly, but its probably in that sorta way, they make you look crap and bad to make themselves look and feel better about themselves, THOSE people are not your friends!
    you know you shouldnt bottle things up. because at the end of the day, they continue to walk all over you and make you feel worse and worse.
    stand up for yourself and not necessarily BITCH in their face, but state truth about yourself when they try and make you look stupid.
    or if you fancy a bit of a cheeky come back just say something like "shouldn't talk about yourself that way....are you trying to fish for compliments or something? It's not really working. It's ok, we still love you *smile sweetly*"
