Thursday July 12, 2007 Hong Kong Hollywood will continue its tradition of ripping off popular films from other countries after a studio agreed to remake the Hong Kong romantic comedy, "Love Undercover." Hong Kong director Joe Ma's 2002 smash is about a young policewoman who is picked for an undercover job. Her assignment is to get close enough to a gangster's son so that she can plant a microphone at a table where the gangsters make their deals. Complications arise when she finds herself falling in love with the son. The film, featuring Hong Kong actress Miriam Yeung and actor Daniel Wu, became a trilogy. Miriam Yeung was delighted by the news. "It proves again Hong Kong films perform well on the market. And I hope the news will attract more investors," she said. Director Joe Ma has expressed his hope Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore gets the leading role. Another big Hollywood remake of Hong Kong hit was crime flick "Departed," based on Hong Kong director Wai Keung Lau's awards-winning film "Infernal Affairs." "The Departed" won Martin Scorsese the 2006 best director Oscar. credits: crienglish.
drew barrymore is good actress.. she knows how to put up a funny act.. love undercover part 2 n 3 are too stupid.. i got pissed off watchin it.. bcoz i cudn't stand their stupidity.. but overall they're alrite.. i hope d hollywood is a much better one
another remake damn, what's up with all these remakes and sequels, hollywood needs some originality injected into its veins, damn.
I say Jessica Alba as the leading role -drool-drool-drool-drool-drool Hopefully they don't combine all three Love Undercover Films into one like the departed-doh
they always do remakes or copy someone else... we copy them, they copy us... etc... this is old news....
because they never end up crediting the real source, and who cares they paid, they should just not remake them, just release the original with subs... some idiot at the oscars i think said the departed based on infernal affairs, was originally from japan....
its not considered plagiarizing because its all done legally but its just that to me it still feels like they ripping off the original
i don't like the american remakes. infernal affairs was much better than the departed, and the japanese version of the grudge beat the american version.
