LONG but interesting report on Business Week about how China's problems that will prevent it from becoming the next superpower. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/Extra/BrokenChinaADysfunctionalNation.aspx
the article is very interesting, i personally could not read through all of it, 1 cause im too lazy, 2 because it seem overly hostile towards china Although it points out very valid points the problems in China and Chinas economy, it just seems to be some rant about how crap China is and how nothing will ever get fixed. if your going to write such an article you should be neutral and report from all perspectives. It points out how dirty and polluting China is and how China is not taking enough steps to stop this, but it does not mention that in fact America is the worlds top polluter of carbon emissions, i guess since its about china, it does not need to. but the attitude of the writer and mood the article sets is condescending Its just a big rant by someone who seems to hate China ------------------------ I was reading a linked article about Recalls of China's products, but what made me so mad, was the majority of the recalled products had safety problems which are NOT the fault of the manufacture (ie China) but of the design... Example they say that a toy workbench had to be recalled because toddlers were choking on small parts. How the HELL is that the fault of China... its the fault of the idiot designer who thought it would be a good idea to design a childs toy with small parts....
I feel like china has to change its government before becoming a juggernaut in the world. The problem with this is most of the time, we are mostly lying to ourselves about our government. Communism isn't really around anymore... I like to call china a capitalist communistic oligarchy.
I've always liked to think of it this way.. Our government lies to us, but every few years they get so good at it that we believe things will change. Their government lies to them, but at least they know they are being lied to.
I am confused who is they and who is us, but if us = USA and they = China heres what I have to say: I don't think Chinese people know they are lied to, because they are forced not to know.
I tend not to read any American made opinion articles about the Chinese government and economy. A lot of them are just endless rants about how China is not as good as it seems and should change their ways. Talking about how we're lucky that life here isn't like life in China. sigh..
i don't totally agree with the article; but i do think that Chinese government need to play a more important role in the goods they produced. like i have said in another thread, China has one hell of an opportunity now to be one of the richest country. if they were to seize this opportunity, ensure their products and enhance their products, who's to say where China will be? News after news about how China's products and fake products from China is harming the health of human beings are ruining their image. Sooner or later, worldwide governments will be forced to go somewhere else, feared for the lives of their citizens.
