If some of you guys been to hong kong, there are a vast population of the filipinos in hong kong being mployed as nannies from the employment agency of hong kong to look after busy parents' children/ However, if you noticed there has been incidents almost every week in the newspaper like Orisun or Apple News, where the filipino nanny will mistreat the child(ren) of the parents they are looking after. Last year in december, i recall a filipino snipped a young child's penis off just because he was crying. Other incidents include beating a child and treating them like a rag doll. This angers me alot. The hong kong government give them an opportunity to have a good life and earn some money and they go and cause trouble. If this happened in Australia, the whole government will intervene and ship them back to the Phillipines. not to mention a massive wave of anti-filipino movement. I think the Hong Kong people should like, what Chopper Reed said, "Harden the F$%K UP!". Whats your opinions?
snipped off his penis? are you serious? i think for more the most part, they will do alright, it's just a few persons that are retarded and deserve to be in jail (not even sent back to do the same distruction to their own kids)
yep! Lucky the little fellow was recoverable. The baby was weeping like mad and when the aprents came home they were shocked to see blood everywhere and they discovered the filipino nanny mutilate the poor child. google the article for orisun....if u could read chinese that is
Once again this is a problem with the media, theyve picked up on stories that "sell" well and reported it intensively. so now people are believing that the entire population of Filipinos in HK are abusive... which is a bit narrow-minded tbh. Its probably a very very small minority of Filipino nannies that are abusive. But cause multiple high profile cases have been reported, people begin to believe all of them are abusing children.... There are probably more abusive parents in HK than nannies... And saying ship them back to the Philippines is just not appropriate, im sure many people depend on their nannies to be able to go to work and earn money. Your better off introducing control over nanny workers, and any abusive nannys can be blacklisted, jailed, deported...
Omg...that's crazy...snipped the little boy's penis off? Yeah..well, I think that child abuse might only apply for certain nannies, but of course, not all. Like dim8sum said, it's just that the media picks this particular news and releases it to the general public, and when it becomes a popular piece of news, everyone is led to believe that all Filipino nannies are like that, which I'm sure is not true.
Hmm, if that's true the maid/nanny that's been abusing the kid she should get the punishment as stated in the HK law for that crime. But I won't go as far as sending all Filipinos away because a few have misbehaved. Most maids/nanny's are very nice and I actually can't stand the way how many HK people tend to treat them. My mom once had an argument with her mother-in-law and sister-in-law because they wouldn't let the nanny sit with us on the dinnertable and had ordered her to sit in the kitchen by herself. (no table!) I'm proud of my mom.
Those are very extreme cases. If they are from agencies, they would've gone through quite a number of tests, training, and screenings before going to HK to work as nannies.
HKD 2-3G, roughly about CAD 400 max per month. Not all nannies are like this. A lot of them are very helpful in the family and only a very minority will do this. Many have to work long hours, from 6 am till 7-8 pm (cleaning, preparing food, grocery shopping....). If you ask me, maybe we should ship HK parents back to mainland for not caring for their children and leaving them for others to care.
incidents like that happen in canada as well. I remember visiting my great aunt in k, and when I left, I gave the nanny 100 bucks HK dollars...she didn;t want to accept it. ...
I think most are generally good nannies, I mean, I know that most immigrants are fortunate to have a better life in a new country. Yhis story is just one that the media highlighted.
not all filipinos nannies are like this, so i don't think the whole population of filipinos in hk should be punished as that would be greatly unfair and just not right. The media is just launching an attack on the race of nannies they don't really like or something cause other races of nannies do crazy stuff too.
Thats good to know since i always thought that it was only in Asia that we find Flipinos maid or anything ethnicity for that matter. -ohmy
yikes, that's horrible...my place has a lot of filipino and indon maids...child abuse and rape cases happen a lot...
