I'd better start learning Finnish then! Many films already have this shortage of water (or food) in the future as theme and wars breaking out etc., so it wouldn't surprise me if that would happen in real life one day. (didn't the comicwriters back in the 40's or 50's have predicted the Iraq war hehe?)
wow asian is at risk? but malaysia is a small country surrounded by sea...so, as bionca has mentioned.. we should start drinking our own urine lol....
But you can't drink seawater? Only if you have natural waterresources (other than the seawater lol) or unless there's a way to filter the seawater to make it drinkable you'll be safe otherwise, yeah start saving urine up in tanks lol.
im thinking it would be easier to filter sea water, or like electrolysis to get rid of the salt (sorry im no chemist, so i have no idea ) then to drill under the earth...
it won't happen in our generation. So don't worry having to stock up your urine. But if it does happen I wonder how many would rather die than to drink their own urine?
i agree. i'm not a chemist either; but i believe i read somewhere that they are already doing it now. it's just that the process cost more than what we have now; hence, not really popular.
well the silent war has already begun in different parts of the world.it is especially in places where the difference between the rich and the poor. have heard that in africa there the really poor people have to buy their water around ten to twenty times more than the rich people. There is some really bad places like warring states where the occupied places had been stealing from the outside and those who are left out in the cold haft to pay for the water.so yeah the war had started for quite awhile now.
Just a question, but what if the only way to get water is to process your "processed water", if you get what i mean...
yeh at the moment its not economically sustainable to get water from the sea, but maybe in the future like on space ships! technically water that comes outta taps in western country is treated sewage water isnt it, so isnt that like poo/wee water anyway thats been cleaned out
Oh I remember there was a Brainiac episode (or was it National Geo Junior?) in which they showed how to filter your own urine and explained why it's cleaner than other fluids. After filtering it really just looked like normal water (which it is after all) and the woman drank it up.
lol this is how they do it up on the space station too. water is too expensive to bring into space because of it's weight. so they haveta recycle all their body fluids
