japanese fashion is very popular in asia especially in hk do you think japanese fashion could hit the US?
Hahaha fair enough...I don think so too cause US people prefer to be unique or different from people around the world..For instance, they alter spelling of words just for US ie colors, hemoglobin and so on so forth...So, they would be quite unwilling to adopt other styles.
I think japanese fashion has and is starting to develop in the US. There is this store called UNIQLO that mixes japanese and american styles of clothing, as they claim. They even sell kimonos there too.
it wont be possible to hit the US because if u think of a 200lb girl in a kimono .............its not that sexy haha
hahah.. it's possible for any kind of fashion to hit the US. the ac in uniqlo is pretty good esp, in the summer. hahah they have nice furry sweaters u can wear to sleep and it will feel ultra comfortable. hahaha it is pretty cheap there, but some things they do overprice. =]
i think we'll get bits and pieces of the fashion trends in the US but definitely not a full blown invasion. I've also noticed that things that happen in Asia eventually come to the america after a yr or 2
In NZ I've noticed some Jap styles in some of our stores i.e Supre. But the thing is they changed the style a bit and they look horrible.....so I think the Jap fashion will hit US, but they will change it to suit those bigger people...
UNIQLO? what store is that in (is that the only store that sells it?)? i personally like japanese style of clothes but, i don't think i could afford it (due to my budget and, stuff)?
haha. most likely not. i think there's definitely a lot more Europeans living in America than Asians and so European is America's (general) clothing style. secondly, each state has a different style? according to where people live the general style could always be T-shirts and boardshirts or fur coats and mittens or plaid shirt and boots.
thats very true, but i guess if we killed off all the fat ppl then maybe it will be US future fashion
they're selling Harajuku Lovers stuff at Journeys here in the US... although i'm not sure how it actually compares to the real Harajuku stuff in Shibuya... then there's Hot Topic that sells anything and everything like naruto cosplay -.-; so there might be some japanese fashion there... and I think there was a Bape store in New York? so its here... just i don't think it'll hit mainstream in the near future...
lots of the common teenage styles that you see in japan have been hitting the ameircan market for several years like wearing leggins and long shirts that go past your butt, those are all originally japanese things so lots of those cheap teenager clothes shops actually are copying japanese styles like forever21
I think maybe a small amount of people. I know many americans who are not too international with anything.
Every now and then culture A takes some elements of culture B into it's fashion and vice versa. (and weren't the leggings some 80's wacky inventions?)
