both consoles are pretty good.. don't have any of them myself... but the 3 yr warranty with the 360 would be a pretty big incentive to get it.. for ps3 the blu ray player in it is pretty good.. seeing as it's at a similar price to normal blu ray players.. and for the games coming out.. i don't think that many ppl are goin to buy the console because they wanna play one game.... if there was a couple of games on the list they wanted to buy.. then yeah... they'd probably get it.. in the short term... 360 is probably better.. but in the long run... ps3 would probably be better. (provided they fixed those hardware problems- not reading discs)

except for the 120gb HDD, which u can't upgrade on ur own unless ur incredibly bored, is $180... the wireless controller... HDMI output + HDMI cable, decent one runs for $15...... nice black scheme... of course that would be my argument against that link and the date of the article... but... the newer pro consoles have the HDMI outputs and that's what i really wanted neways as u can run an external HDD if u really need the space... but keep in mind, that would mean u lose a USB port, give and take i suppose... I picked up an Elite a week ago, but then again I had a 10% discount at target and that specific target didn't have the new pro units, so 360Elite for $410 isn't bad imho... atm the 360 is the better choice over the PS3... PS3 doesn't really get any killer app till next year... so yeah... another year, another console -sweat
410 bucks is alot of cash.. not to mention atleast 2 games, each atleast 60 dollars and another controller... thats about 580 dollars.. and then you have Xbox live fees... its either Xbox 360 or Winter Tires... winter tires will probably win lol

Id get a PS3 anyday........-blush2 here are my reasons: The PS3 is alot more reliable machine than 360 PS3 you get a Blu ray player console is a lot quiter Games are all region. The 360 is lacking any support for Japanese games simply because the console is not selling in Japan. The 360 has a rather ugly and fat PSU that looks like a brick whereas the PS3 PSU is internally built in Metal Gear 5 and GT5 -innocent2 PS3 online is free the only reason to get a 360 is Halo 3
heh compared to 499 + 2 games, each atleast 60 dollars and another controller... that's 660 dollars... come now... he's asking which of the two you'd get... not what'd u spend on for practicality... besides, i don't need snow tires where i live they're overrated neways... real men drive slideways -cool btw.. i picked up madden 08 + GoW for $90 from TRU just the other day... hardly the 60 dollars for each game -whistle

To be fair there are more games than just Halo 3. Like Gears of War and Lost Planet. There are also other games coming out like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Halo Wars and as you said Halo 3. Some of the PS3 exclusives are now even avalable on the 360. Games like Beautiful Katamari, Devil May Cry 4, and GTA4.
PS3 has Play@home or w/e, i hear its pretty good, the thing is it just doesnt have any good internet multiplayer games

btw if you play online for xbox360 you mainly have to buy the xbox live also to play online which is not worth it. like $40 a year? ps3 for online its probably free.
Some developers have noted that cause the 360 only has DVD, that content may have to be cut out and can be downloaded later
You get what you pay for, NOTHING in this world comes for free. the quality of the onlne service for ps3 is not as reliable as the xbox service and if it is, it will soon decline as the infrastructure becomes bigger and it requires more people to maintain it. Sony lose enough money already.
