Well here's the thing...I saw people in Times Square today holding signs that said "Free Hugs." These people in their mid-teens and early twenties all held up signs that said free hugs. I also read there's this guy in Hong Kong that does it as well. My thing would be to say f---- this shit. No stranger is going to be hug me no matter how close they come next to me and why would anyone in their right mind would do such a thing. I know we live in the modern 21st century and we have different values versus the past but I think these people are somewhat taking it to a little extreme.
not sure whats the go with it but i don't really mind it, don't really see anything wrong with it so spread the PLUR hah
It's part of a revolution of new-age trends. It's just like how people thought cuddle parties were f*** up a few years ago, but now they are really popular. They are not forcing hugs on you. All humans need some form of physical contact from time to time, and a free hug on the street can help.
yeah i saw a news report on tv not too long ago about it. there is a lady that stands on bay street in toronto (the business -->stockmarket--central of toronto). she stands there giving away free hugs. anyways, her analogy is to spread positiveness and basically to put a smile on someone's face. personally, if i need a hug, i'll get it from someone i know. this whole free hugs thing is just too weird for me.
haha.. guess its to spread the idea of love.. like sometimes we get so busy with everyday life that we forget human to human love? not just with ppl we know but everyone in general. then again.. whether it can be accepted depends on the culture of the society. some places its perfectly normal to hug one another.. some places its not.
^exactly! haha. and if you didn't know, there's numerous places where they're doing this. it's more of a campaign than a random act. although if i were to say it is, i'd call it random acts of kindness. if you go on youtube there's probably a ton of videos on this "free hug" campaign. and yeah, just because you think it's dumb/a scandal or whatever you think it is, there's a lot of people in need of love who don't. let's leave you up on a mountain all by yourself without any physical contact of any kind. see how long you can last eh? just kidding. -^_^ humans all feel a need to be accepted and loved. it's just nature.
^ I live as a hermit in the Amazon, come give me some hugs now Seriously speaking, as long as they dont come hug me, its all good. Kudos for them having the courage hugging ppl randomly on the street as a way of spreading kindness and love.
it's suppose to be a picker upper. supposedly a little human contact like a hug improves your mood and relieves some work stress.
damn vein u dont need to be so harsh maybe some ppl really appreciate these hugs u know when u are feeling like the world is against u and u just really need that one hug not like they gonna rob u or they smell like bums or what not they are just innocent ppl who wants to show you this world isnt as cruel as everyone things thats all its not something to be ashamed off when u upset
awww i think its nice thing to do.....hmm i might have to give it a go myself some day...hahahaha in fact i remember someone on PA did it....cant remember who it was though..>.< i rememeber seeing his picture
There's nothing wrong with giving free hugs unless you have a cut that's still bleeding and and that cut is infested with AIDS that can be transferred into your body somehow..
I saw ppl walking with those signs in Melbourne...its quite funny actually... i guess they wanna save lonely ppl from commiting suicide by giving them hugs or something?
