Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have split after three years together, a source confirms to PEOPLE. "It was rocky for awhile," says a source close to the couple. "They did what they could to make it work." The source says the split was amicable. The pair, who welcomed daughter Matilda in October 2005, met while they were filming Brokeback Mountain in 2004. Costars say the chemistry was obvious from the start. "I remember being in rehearsal, and the two of them had googly eyes with each other," costar Jake Gyllenhaal said of the couple. "There were sparks immediately," added costar Anne Hathaway. "It was adorable." The Brooklyn-based duo welcomed their daughter during promotion for the film, with Ledger calling the former Dawson's Creek star the perfect mom. But the rigorous schedule wasn't easy. "We started promoting the movie about three weeks after [Matilda] was born, which was too soon," she said in a 2006 interview. "I'm just learning lessons now, like learning how to be a working mom."
too bad...they were a cute couple...but oh well....normal in hollywood... =/ scary thought...but i guess thats reality
even some hollywood couples that married like 10 years or more got divorced, *sigh* i feel sad for the daughter.
I think the mentality of " being a couple" has evolved so much that ppl in general tend to simply say that "its not working, lets move on and find someone else". Guess the value of working at a relationship is not what it used to be. >.< Why the concept of 5 yrs? -unsure
Well...for movie stars....temptation is all around... being away from ur own partner for a few months.....and in the meanwhile working close to another hot actor/actress...maybe shooting some romantic scenes must be bad for your marriage...
^ Dont think it only applies to stars. A lot of ppl are going thru divorce or break ups simply because there's no more "love".
yeah that is true...but it must be extra hard if u have to shoot some steamy sex scenes and make out to some hottie everytime....?
