i know this sounds simple (and games you must already know): freeze tag london bridge alligator (i call it alligator at least): we used to take baseball bases (plates) and have a stack of them. everyone stands in a line (behind a line). first person takes one base and throws it across the line then steps on base. (so of course can't touch anything around or you'll get eaten by alligators and have to start all over again!) so second person comes on behind and passes another base. so you just have to keep on moving forwarding without falling off the bases (or mats or whatever but it can't be something super big and should pose a challenge). usually everyone had to cram on the limited number of bases as much as possible and without teamwork, someone would get shoved off. so when there's the last base left to use, everyone crams on the second to last and pick up the last one (one most closest to starting line) and pass it up to front and keep on moving forward. sounds complicated. but super fun once you know the general rules and how it works. i remember playing it ever since i was little so maybe appropriate for 5 year olds? hide-and-seek
it's a very simple board game, but I don't remember exactly so here's wiki -^_^ all I know is that I loved this when I was a kid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candy_Land
