Which is a good laptop to get? One that is under a thousand bucks. I'm thinking about Dell. They have a new line now I think. Is it good? I think i'm using it for school mostly, browse the net Thanks in advance
Well if you're just going to use it for school and browsing I guess Dell is ok. You have any that you're considering?
i mean lenovo or toshiba is good enough, unless you want to do something else besides surfing the net
i had a toshiba n it wud overheat n one of my rams became defected....it wud always get da blue screen of death....dis happen to all my other frends wif toshibas as well dell's xps series looks good so i guess it wud be a good pick....u can depend on dell to last a long time n their afordable
like most have suggested, dell offers a better device for your money. key being how much you can afford.
I see I've been checking out some of the HP Pavilion notebooks. They look pretty alright. I'm on a budged now thanks to those expensive text books and costly school tuitions... so I might have to wait a while before i can get a laptop :( sux Thanks for all the help though
If you're looking purely for the guts of the machine, Dell probably has the best deals, or maybe even Acer and HP/Compaq. But if you're looking for something more, say design, casing, or special functionalities, then there's a lot more brands/makes to go for. The Dell XPS and Lenovo Thinkpads as others have mentioned, are very good selections beyond your entry level laptop. Apple Macbooks and Macbook Pros are popular in that catergory as well. In asian markets, NEC seems to have a name for itself there.
i have a dell. got it for around a thousand. don't really have any complaints. like u, i mainly needed it for school and it served it's purpose. plus, now, u can choose the colour of ur laptop. get it now too. best deals are in august.
i dont see why people really 'need' laptops, i find paper and pens are perfectly fine... as long as u have a desktop at home of course
get a dell with coupon codes, i know someone who got a dell 1420 with a $350 off coupon...the base is good enough for school though, cost around 850
And anyone know more about the Fujitsu Siemens laptops? I'm in the orientation phase and from the info I've gathered so far the AMILO X series sounds nice to me? I want a light laptop for browsing, watching films and editing photos (must be able to handle PS Elements at least) while on travel. WXGA, or WXGA+ etc. is a must for me, so is a long battery life.
well 17" sounds nice when we first want to buy it, but sooner or later, its a pain in the ass to carry. its more like a destop laptop kinda thing... thats why i hate mine so much. but it serves me well. -lol
if cheap go for dell, if nice go for mac then again, they both run intel core 2 duo so not that big of a difference...
I'm totally not familiar with Apple stuff...what's the average price for a MacBook then? And a Mac is the best buy for people who demands high quality screen resolution for photo/film stuff? (I'm trying to find a laptop for under €1000 but let's say my max. is €1300 incl. the necessary accessories) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- edit: hmm went to the Apple site and the MacBooks indeed have very attractive specs for me...but the prices starts at €1049. -ohmy I'll keep an eye on it.
