ya that's one of the places I read it from, but sometimes I doubt wiki I also read something about WWII and prostitutes pretending to be Geisha were offering service to American Soldiers. I guess that's where most of the misconceptions occurred. Apparently Japan had these laws about prostitution. You required a license to do it, and the Geisha were forbidden from obtaining one.
