I doubt it has enough power to run Vista so windows is out and Mac OS is out just cause its not made by apple. So I'm guessing its a Linux based OS. EDIT: Here's a vid on it
2gb ssd= i think it must be linux... It looks hot for a 200 dollar pc though, i mean a mp3 player is like 100 with 2gb, a great deal here and it doesn't get too hot after 6hr (Mine burns after 2-3)! wow...
Even with a Linux based, its not that bad. Maybe i should put that little gadget on my "to buy list". -^_^
this is great news but i dont think it works for mainstream. who uses these products anyhow? people want desktops on the go, i dont think these half-assed computers are going to be much market... unless they make it into the cell phone market... who knows. IMHO.
Finally someone decided to release a flash based "laptop"... But at a measly 2gb, I doubt it can strike up a market... I certainly would want one if its later reincarnation feature better specs... great idea though.
^the vid says up to 16gb or something, hopefully there's an sd slot expansion or something cause upgrading with sd slot is probably less expensive than more flash memory...
True enough, not to mention it's more flexible with the SD... I didn't see the vid so didn't know that it's possibly expandable to up to 16gb -sweat
Here are the specs: Connectivity: 10/100 Mbit Ethernet 802.11b/g wireless LAN 3 or 4 USB 2.0 ports MMC/SD/MS card reader Media 2/4/8/16 GB flash memory Operating system Linux-based, Xandros Input Keyboard Touchpad Camera Microphone Camera built-in 300K pixel video camera Power 4 cell NiMH battery CPU 900MHz Intel Celeron-M ULV 353 Memory 256/512 MB DDR2-400 RAM Display 7 in TFT LCD @ 800×480; although the unit is slightly larger than the screen to accommodate the speakers *and also apparently windows XP has been tested on the system and apparently has worked but is not bundled to keep the price cheap information from wikipedia
^i was curious of how much ram there was but since it has 512mb, couple that with 16gb hd and you should be able to run xp but that would probably run the configuration to about 400 or more, the camera is also a nice touch for such a cheap laptop...
uh huh i wouldnt mind getting that when i go uni but dunno when it'll reach the shores of UK ¬ ¬ probably next year december ¬ ¬ so long ah well but yea very good price wit those specs
But why would you waste your money buying windows, when the Lniux OS is free, and they already packaged it into the computer with a cool little interface.
^true true, but it is a good feature for those dedicated windows os fans or linux illiterate people lol
