this is so unfortunate. ironically, the current "most beautiful woman in the world" (if there's such a title) is Aishwarya Rai, an Indian actress. source: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/12/29/60minutes/main663862.shtml
Men as in mankind since all are equal Ummm... shes the most beautiful?.. i have a problem digesting that.>.<
it amazes me that this is still the case ... someone needs to get a stick and hit the head of those ppl; then tell them, it's 21st century. I agree. she's not that pretty.
Instead of the women's parents giving huge dowries it should be the other way round if there's a shortage of women in the near future; a woman can have more candidate husbands asking her hand which is why the male's should give her parents huge dowries if they want to marry her.
^it's hard to change a lifestyle that has persisted for centuries without change so abruptly. change is probably what would cause a civil war. has anyone ever seen the movie 'City of Joy'? it's a tad old but really gets down to the nitty gritty of Indian lifestlye.
........the world's gonna turn gay, too many men, not enough females, lol, therefore world's gonna turn gay, or everybody gonna be related to everyone lol
saddening.. hope they manage to address the issue soon enough.. wonder if the mass is getting the message though..
why is this men's stupidity????? Are the men the ones only at fault here?? Aren't the mothers equally at fault for allowing the feoticide to happen??? What happens here is a case of traditional misgiving and uneducated minds at its utmost stupidity. I would say both the male and the female involved is equally at fault. Correct ur title to"Rural Indian Men And WOmen Stupidity"
i was listening to 680 news* yesterday, and they were asking something about if its ethical to make embryos for scientific research.... while they kill them in india, we try and make them over here... * 680 news is a news radio station that everyone listens to in toronto lol (exaggeration of course.)
"A 2003 Bollywood film, Mathrubhoomi (Motherland) (right) painted a horrific picture of a future India, where a lack of women means a father and his four sons share one woman. She is eventually killed by one of the men in jealous rage." damn, i doubt things will ever get that rough... there are still other women out there lol.. that movie must have made the assumption that india was the only country in the world.
