I have a social topic that just came to mind when i was listening to the news today on my way back from school. Before i explain that topic, let me summarize the radio article: 14 teenagers were arrested for sexual abuse on a grade 9 student girl (roughly 13-14 year old), forcing her to give one of the boys oral sex in the washroom, while the others spotted. Now, on with the issue. What do you guys think are factors that lead to today's children to act so... how should i say... pretending to be adults? We see 13-14 year old girls wearing an inch thick make-up, boys treating girls as their wives, boys acting gangster, trying to be on par with older people.. We see girls like on the maury show, 15 year olds getting pregnant, talking shit about their mamas. And now, we hear kids giving blow jobs... and screwing each other... When i was their age, i dont recall this shit happening... granted that was 7 years ago, and there was bullying, sometimes as far as a kiss to the mouth, but never screwing or giving head... What happened to the cooties? What happened to the "OMG! HE KISSED HER or SHE KISSED HIM?!" on a side note, this reminds me of another topic.. this time about gender roles... we see more boys being more vulnerable, more feeble, weaker than before... we see women coming out of the spot light, and standing up for themselves. granted thats good, but what happened to the boy being tough and strong? hell.. i see guys with sissi avatars and signatures on forums... or guys acting like pussies.... whats up with that? no offense meant, if you were insulted in anyway.
Lol @"What happened to the cooties? What happened to the "OMG! HE KISSED HER or SHE KISSED HIM?!" I know what u mean....! I never even held a guys hand until i was 13! I was too shy to even kiss a guy on the cheek at that age...that was like such a big deal... but kids now...have probably kissed more ppl at age of 13 than i have while i am so much older=/ it worries me too when i see 12 year old girls dressed up like girls they see on MTV, thinking their adults and know everything... I guess its the way the parents educate their kids....they dont teach em whats wrong or whats right.... Nowadays the kids are allowed to do so more things than say 10 years ago... Too much freedom at a young age can mess a kid up =/.... When i have kids later i want them to act like a kid as long as possible...i wonder if that is going to work if all the other kids around them behave like adults but i certainly will at least try to do that. I also think the media plays a big role......they see stuff on tv and think that thats normal watch any R&B/RAP video and u see what i mean....sex and nudity all over the place....
LOL brain! wahhh? @ cheeks. all those kids should visit maury. youve heard of him, or seen his shows before? btw, to any mods, i think i made a mistake in choosing the section for this. i just realized it doesnt fit in either philosophical topics, nor religion... most likely rant...
LOL indeed. I think it's hella ironic that you have that user title and you wrote a topic like this... Muahaha.
You have no idea how much kids (my age) are affected by that. Girls see some celeb wearing some skanky clothes and then they decide to do it themselves. Same for us guys. Its like monkey see monkey do. How would Maury help? -huh
i am 20, not 14 lol what.. didnt think i could start a serious topic such as this? basically, hes like jerry springer, but deals with people with HUGE mental issues. @ khaotic, he did turn some girls around, when they were beating the shit out of their moms.. everytime i go by this all girls high school to go to my school, i see niners outside in the cold, wearing skanky skirts, and smoking their asses off... and then, i see niner boys grabbing girls asses... or girls grinding... like.... theyre still children ffs... cheeks right.... media is a bad influence. internet too. they should make internet only available to adults, and kids get stuck with .edu sites hahaha
^Maury could possibly be a cause to these issues too cause i mean revealing these issues on tv makes kids laugh and therefore they probably take it less seriously and instead ignore the issue altogether thinking that whatever happens on tv is probably not gonna happen in real life anyways.
yup exacly what im trying to say Aaah...good old jerry springer....crappy talkshow of the century! yeah i know internet is bad...look at "myspace" of some of those kids and what kind of pictures some of them put on their websites and u know enough and u know...even lotsa asian kids have gone bad...=/ i remember going clubbin in NL...and there was this 14 year old girl dancing on a little stage...wearing a mini skirt....everyone was looking at her like tsk tsk tsk....bad bad.... and im thinking....if u were my lil sis or cousin...id drag u off that stage and teach u a good lesson
shiet cheeks... thats pretty nasty... good thing that doesnt happen here, or the cops would throw them in juvenile jails... thats nasty..... absolutely pedophilic...
hmmmm...yeah...i kid u not...in NL...if ur a girl u can get into lotsa clubs...they dont ask for ids... i started clubbin when i was 15....but of course i behaved myself -forgot to mention that was a lil asian girl at an ASIAN party....=/
Naw, I never doubted you for a second there of being capable, my son. Anyway, on topic, I think the social problem you highlighted of the kids are more apparent in western countries? I dunno, in Malaysia or Asian countries, it's still, thankfully, quite not so common to hear all these, but obviously there is a steady decline in moral standards in kids these days. Actually, it's more to do with the parents' upbringing I guess. Older generations used to bring up their kids in a more old-fashioned way, in other words, stricter but nowadays you bring out a cane, and people say you are abusing the child. Are we actually heading toward the right direction by being less strict? Do grounding and talking really work? One more factor that affects the kids I think is because most parents these days are more occupied with their own lifestyles, etc. Technology offers so much more new excitement, the parents are more engrossed in their own lifestyles to care for their kids. Less family time, more individual time. Back in those days where TV is non-existent, the family sits together in the living room having dinner. Nowadays? To each his own. And of course, access to this modern technology may also bring a negative impact to the kids. Influence of violence, sex, etc. on TV, internet, etc. Hmm, why do I get the feeling that you seem to be intimidated that girls nowadays appear to be less vulnerable and more independent?
@fearless....lol...yeah that pic says more than a 1000 words.... im 21...and if id go out dressed up like that my mother would still be mad at me my mother is pretty straight to the point shed say "you look like a prostitute go upstairs and change"
thast because u used to be a loner and got bullied then came to toronto pretending you cool and all that knowing french lol
@ angie. ur 21.... never thought u would of told ur age. yea i se a lot of ppl trying to look like what they see on tv. the media is very big influence on ppl. now i see a lot of little kids in chinatown like 12-13 or sumthing, walking in a group and acting all gangster. even girls r acting like gangsters too. girls acting like their eazy. kids don't have respect for their parents anymore. when my children ever starts disrespecting me, i don't care if their 16, 18, they'll see the back of my hand.
yeah that is a good policy. il show them asian discipline. They will fear the wooden feather duster until they are atleast 16 -pirate
