i would say don't give her the present. if u wanted to give her something i would say go buy some flowers or something. i think paying for dinner is a good gesture. i always offer to pay for the bill when i go out on dates. the check always gets split into two, as in ripped, but i always win.

well since your friend told her you were gonna get a bear, maybe you can surprise her with something else, something better that she won't expect? and 18, yeah you should be fine, its just that i read your other thread about your confession and thought you were at least 20. Just a tip about this hooking up thing, it might be a bit awkward since you 2 haven't met before but are already going out on a date. So maybe try to find out as much info about her as you can and when you do meet her, at least it will make her feel more comfortable when talking because you know what to say.
