right i have tried to fixed this all night n even miss the Utd match 2nite fixing this so i decided to post this up to see if anyone can help me Right. Atm my pc runs at a Resolution at 1280x1024, i normally play online games sometime full screen n sometime in window n had no problems. But for the pass few days i dunno why i realise when i play a game full screen for example Guild Wars or Football Manager my screen flicks rapidly n the game loads fine, when i exit the game my resolotion is automatically changed bak to 800x600, the icons looks MASSIVE , so solve this problem i have to restarted my pc over n over again. so i dunno why it does this. i tried: re-installing graphics card (nvidia 7600gs) play around with the settings (manage to fixed Guild Wars for a moment, but then realise i cant play football manager cos it says my screen does not support(WTF)) i dont know wa to do now, i hardly play any games now, all of them is in full screen n when i exit my res is 800x600 omg this is doin my head in need help
ive never had a problem like this... have you done anything recently like reinstalling graphic card drivers etc? if you havent try reinstalling them or upgrading to the new ones that came out not a while ago
Download the latest patch for the graphics card. It usually solves the problem. I currently running a Nvidia 8800GTS and with 1680 x 1050 monitors. It still happens but instead of kicking the reso down to 800 x 600 it kicks it down to 1280 x 768. The way I fix mine is to update my drivers.
If your using win xp, try updating your direct X to the latest version (doesnt do it automatically through windows update, u have to go and download it yourself). I think I had a similar prob to you before.. but it only happened when I alt-tabbed out of some games, not from exiting them. Anyway just update your direct X and your graphics card driver. Also, if the updated G-card driver doesnt fix it, uninstall it and use the original one and see if you still get the prob.
Few things: - Set your gaming setting to match your current desktop setting. It is CRITICAL that you run graphics at your monitors native resolution. - Nvidia drivers are known to be flaky. Completely remove the old driver using CCleaner before installing the latest driver.
dunno much about this but it could be perhaps your monitor. try using a different monitor and see if the problem reoccurs.
thank for all ur advice but i fixed the problem i uninstall the sysmetrix on mine pc, u know the thing on ur desktop that tell u how much cpu n ram ur using well that fixed the problem!
