You should consider Full 1080p HD LCDs now, since they offer the standard resolution for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. What's your budget? Any size requirements?
size restriction would be my first question? if you have to go under 40" your not going to get 1080P the highest you'll get it 1080i and 720p if your not in any rush i'd wait till christmas/thanksgiving rolls around you'll get tons of nice deals during those times. I picked up my 32" bravia for a steal during one of last year's christmas sales.
dood why not get a plasma tv??? they cheap...go to costco.ca or the store...dont go to brault and Martineau if u r in quebec...u cant return shiit... best buy/ future shop/ costco...they let u return stuff...used to be no questions asked...lol it better not be to watch porn. lol
get a tv that has at least 2 hdmi port, Full HD 1080P, it should only cost around $1000 for a 37" or about $1500 for a 46" if your in USA. Go to costco, you'll find a 46" or so for $1500 or walmart sometime..
Whats the use of HD tv if the signal is still analog? Thats whatsup here. We only use sat for TVB. cant even get digital tv on cable here.
lmao, id never buy a TV from costco or wal mart... if ur spending 1000+ dollars buy something brand name and dont cut corners sony, samsung or toshiba are all good choices
over here in the US, in 2009, there won't be anymore off the air broadcasting anymore and it will be digital. all tvs now are required to have a digital tuner built into them. isn't in HK, all is digital signal? @ fearless. i like samsung tv's. their picture quality to me looks a lot sharper. have u been to a best buy in canada? they have magnolia there don't they?
When i visited a friend in 05 i saw HDTV for the 1st time in someones livingroom and hbo on demand on projectiontv. That was awesome. I stayed in all day long instead of going out. i was really amazed by the quality . oh yeah the superbowl was on that time! very nice!
no they dont have a magnolia at my best buy.. i did purchase my Toshiba regza from BB though, got it for like 1699 on sale, pretty good for 1080p and 47"
lmao yourself, your paying more for a brand. all the lcd tv is made from another company not themself (samsung, toshiba, or sony) they're made by another company in taiwan or china. no point of getting brand, i would just get a cheap one with good features instead of buying brands. ex Vizio, a major brand for tv now and they actually help other company makes tv i believe. Cheapie 42" tv Westinghouse http://www.ecost.com/detail.aspx?edp=38353733&source=ewbperformics
gottta watch superbowl on HD. its a must.... mag tvs are so much better and better looking. also comes with a higher price too. toshiba isn't my prefrence. price wasn't bad for what u paid. i got a 50 samsung mag tv for 1900. got it so cheap cause of my discount and they gave me the expensive tv instead of the one i bought. went in for a regular on and they mistakenly gave me a mag one lucky me
mag=magnolia. its a higher end store that best buy owns. they sell the nicer stuff that sony, samsung, toshiba, mitsubishi, etc.... has to offer to consumers.
thank you a friend of mine got himself a sony bravia 46 inch for 2300 euro. he got it from a onlinestore. that thing is humongous.
ok there are few things you really need to know when it comes to HD and LCD specifically... if you're looking forward for 1080p... u want a tv that's atleast 46"... best if its 50"+ or else its really pointless to have a 1080p cuz u'd never notice the difference from 720p... depending on ur situation, figure out if you are going to need a tuner... this shouldn't be a problem these days, but some TV's don't have tuners and are cheaper in general... sometimes couple hundred cheaper... you want a fast response time, this is also usually not a problem these days, most LCD TV's should have atleast 8ms in terms of response times... but make sure its atleast 8ms or you'll suffer from ghosting... 12ms is borderline u will most likely want >1 HDMI port and >1 Component port... if u dont' have enuff ur gonna hate urself when u want to plug in ur HD Player, PS2 and Cable all at the same time... and plz don't listen to runtohell about cheap TV's... Fearless is correct, if ur gonna spend money on a $1k TV, make sure u spend it wisely... Sony's are always solid... Sceptre/Westinghouse/Sylvania's and SOME Vizio's u have to watch out for... my friend works customer support for Westinghouse/Vizio... he gets calls about fried Westinghouses and bad firmware updates for Vizio's... he once got a call about someone getting his Vizio torched by a bolt of lightning... on a clear night -.-;... the TV's may be made by the same company as other competitors, but the bigger brand names have better quality control and atleast u'll know u'll get ur TV backed by a good warranty... seriously, there's a reason why Costco accepts ALL returns... even if you fck up ur own TV... if you really must get a cheap HDTV, wait for black friday... its only a month away... and make sure u know exactly what TV ur getting, get a good look at it in person... play around with the settings to see if the picture really is clear and is what u're looking for...
