I think I'd rather have the guy call me than getting his number and having to call him ...

 

i reckon you shouldn't give her your number before the date. What if you find you both don't really suit each other when you talk to her on the phone, then it would be mega awkward when you're out on the date. I'd rather just wait until the day and see how things work out from there. Maybe just get an email first and talk online? just an idea.
