Hmm...you can actually inherit the taste buds? Dunno, thought it was something you've to learn as a baby/toddler to get accustomised to the different tastes. Have read that children don't like bitter things becuase their taste buds are very sensitive for bitterness at that age and the older they get the less sensitive their taste buds become, hence that once they're adults they'll like the things they never liked as a kid.
I suspect it's more childhood education than genetics, since most taste take some getting used to... So if the parents don't like a certain type of food, the toddler/child will not be exposed to said food item, unable to "get used to" the taste. That sounded very un-scientific, I know... >.<
um.. maybe this is true but i dont buy it. i think its possible to teach ur kids to eat everything, especially when they're young. if u don't allow them to eat only what they want, then they will have to learn to eat other foods.
Most parents nowadays don't bother being the "bad guys" for trivial things like food... They aim to be as laissez-faire as possible... -mellow
this just sounds crazy... lol are the kids going to just eat a few types of food only throughout their lives? duh. parents really shouldn't let their kids end up as such picky eaters... zzz...
