First messages, then images, now we move on to audios, one of these days we'll see video spammage -tongue2
This reminds me of the article you posted a while ago. About the Bluetooth advertisements (or as I like to call them -spam). Except this seems easier to prevent, which is good. I don't open any spam mail or download any attachments anyways.
The bluetooth ads shouldn't be difficult to avoid either, as long as you don't accept the download you should be safe
Not the phones, but other bluetooth devices like MP3. I doubt they'll go that far, but if they do... It would be a major pain. But I think I'm safe from all of this. Keep my bluetooth off, don't touch spam mail or attachments and use pop up blocker. I'm all set
Thats usually how it happens. You don't get any spam at all and then out of no where you see 30+ spam emails. Sometimes I wonder how they even got a hold of my email. -mellow
Block everyone that's not in your contact list if you're using Hotmail and use several accounts for several groups of people i.e. family, friends, study, co-workers, newsletters from companies and create an account for asking companies questions if you have to. Most importantly never type your email addy in your forum profile, website etcetc. (or if u really want to do so you'll have to use tricks to avoid the bots collecting email addy's)
i tend to think that some person who knows ur email gives it away in some spam sites by typing it in if they don't like u and it just spreads from then onwards, or ur friends email account gets hacked and it then spreads through there.
Another way your email could get passed on is from those "Win a Car" Promos or something along those lines you see at Shopping Centres. You have to fill in all these details in order to win, and one of the details is often your email address...
