i was hoping for any k800i users here? :p
i'm thinking of gettin a k800i.. i know it's not the flashiest phone around.. but it's not too expensive and i'm a student so i don't hav pockets overflowing with money :p

wat are ur opinions on the phone from a users perspective?
i've looked around for reviews etc.. but most of those don't say any long term effects.. ie will it last? any problems ?disadvantages? advantages?
wat do u like about the phone? wat don't u like?

and is it possible to use the front camera fas a normal camera or is it just for making video calls?

any opinions would be nice ;)
    thanx

ye, i have a few friends that have this phone, they say its very good as a phone, the camera quality is excellent, speakers are good, music player is good, not many faults about it rele. the battery life is also decent so get it if u want functionality. the only fault is its not the best looking phone around or the slimmest but the screen is large which is gd.

Im using the k790a and its pretty much the same thing; the phone is great the only problem that I've heard of is problems with the joystick. But my phone doesn't have the problem so =)

i'm using my k800i now... i'll probably get something else in a couple months when my contract is up, but all i can say is... its a great fone... b4 it, i had a k750... and the best thing about the k800i was that it got better reception oddly enuff... same service(tmobile), but better reception... the bad thing i don't like about the k800 is the new memory card... i wish they had stuck with the MS =/

front camera it just for making video calls.... kind of useless for me reason most people today don't have video calls.

2.0 mega pixels camera ~ poor and no flash light.

button are to close ~ if you have big hands.

uhm... its a 3.2 mega pixel camera... and it DOES have flash... and it's a pretty solid camera for something on a phone... i mean when ur getting a camera on a fone ur not exactly asking for SLR quality here...

can't say nething bout the buttons though cuz that's kinda person to person... although, they're fine for me -huh

so far i've had the phone for about a year now. really good phone. lots of functions but i don't use all of em. the only problem i have with the phone is that sometimes the joystick will lag when selecting pictures for viewing. camera quality is nice cause i used to have the k750 b4 this. the only thing bad about it is it doesn't have a flash light like the k750.
nothing else i can think of atm but overall a pretty good phone. i'm planning to get the k850 when it gets a little cheaper.

contradicting answers with the flash? :S
do u mean it has a light but doesn't flash? but during the day don't really think i'll need the flash anyway..

about the buttons.. don't really think it'll affect me too much... i hav small hands..lol

there we go problem is solved, he was thinking of the wrong phone. i think the k800i has a light not a flashlight but theres not many phones out there that i know of that even has a light with the camera. and the light on a se is pretty powerful. it kind of blinds u in the eyes if u look at it. lol.

no.. it has an actual flash, you have to enable it in the settings when u take the picture... its a strong flash too -shock

oh rele, didn't know that, not surprised that its a strong flashlight considering the light on normal sony ericsson phones are so strong.

I really like the phone, i got it as a spare phone here, its truely a camera phone which makes really nice shots. The quality is nice aswell, only the nav stick is not good, as i had the K750i long time b4, the stick will gettin loosy and faulty with the time.

    I have a K750i and K800i.
The K800i is mmuch faster when browsing through files and pictures are quite good.
I don't think it's possible to use the front camera for photos. Even if you could its gonna be really bad quality

Well it depends, what kind of phone u want to buy!^^
I bought W880i because it was small and doesn't have a joystick, I used to have K750i.
So i had some experience of SE, as my K750i always sucks on joystick, I'm not going to buy any SE with joystick.

In HK I wanted to buy a SE with 3.2 MP and must be Cybershot without joystick.
But I didn't find any. The K800i was the one I really wanted to buy, but the disavantage it has joystick...

So I bough W880i, the music sounds good and the mobile is very small, so it doesn't take much place.
Personally I think, it isn't worth to buy a mobile phone with many functions.
The only thing we use Mobile Phone are:
    -Calling
    -Mp3
    -SMS
    -Camera

As I bought my W880i, I just use it for Music and calling that's all^^
I'm asking me why I waste so much money...

And after I came back from HK the perfect mobile phone I wanted appeared. My dream mobile phone!
    The K770i!
    -Has 3.2 MP like K800i
    -No Joystick
    -MP3
    -Nice model
    -It's cheaper than my W880i (I saw K770i for about 230 Euro)

Well but I already bought a phone =/
    I wish I hadn't bough the W880i...

A friend bought K850i, it better than all phones. It has 5 MP
And touch screen. About 400-500 Euro. My W880i cost 340 Euro >_<
So it's 100 euro more expensive than the K800i.

    Well it's ur choice ^^

personally i've never had a problem with the joystick of the se phones. my current phone is a se and it has a joysick but i guess different ppl have different tastes. as for the k770i, that is exactly the same in features as the k800i, it is just smaller and for 230 euro i think the k800i is probably the better buy if ur not bothered about the size. also the k800i takes better pictures than the k770i and also uses a xenon flash rather than led flash making it better also.

btw i think the w880i is a rele gd phone too and it is prob better than the k770i despite its camera being worse than the k770i because i think the size and the gig card makes up for it and apparently the k770i doesn't produce very good looking pics. i would buy the w880i cos despite it not having the best features it does very well considering its size but as the w890i is coming out early next yr, i will prob get that instead as it has everything that i want, 3.2mp camera with autofocus, comes with 2 gb stick and fm radio. the only thing is it doesn't have a flash but i'm not really bothered with that.

The K800i is now falling into the cheaper catogory,

Its a great phone on a good budget, its a little bulky but the screen is excellent and everything else performs well.
