Im now in my final year of my highschool and gonna do exams in may. Afterwards Im probably going to university and so im visiting open days of university. I already have an idea what to study... but just want to know what is fun to look for during these open days. My main subjects right now are biology/math/physics and chemistry. So any good suggestion which studies are worth to visit? (and no, im not going to do something with economics)

Think you have the ideal combo for Medicines? I would say give it a try, make your parents extra proud of you by studying for 'doktor'. :D Or maybe you like to work in the Forensic Science/criminal science hehe?

And if you want big and fast money you can always try to become a dentist. :p

(I'm almost finished with my study which is the total opposite of yours as it falls under Humanistics/Arts)

    bbes Incredible

u got the right subjects to become a dentist and u will not only feel rewarded being able to help people but u will also get rich much quicker than a doctor lol. or do something interesting such as biochemical engineering. that seems like an interesting degree.

-ohno NOOOOOO!!! Dentist is the occupation with the highest suicide rate (known fact), proves that money can't buy happiness?

I would be depressed if I have to look at cavities and bad teeth all day >.<

You could try a career in pharmacy. From what I've heard, most of the time, you're just standing around doing nothing but you still get paid anyway.

I actually planned to be a pilot, but my eyes are pretty fucked up.... so well ye, I definitely won't be a dokter, I've gone through an internship in a hospital and I found out that I can't see too much blood lol XD

Criminal science sounds cool, maybe I should visit that.. although not there are not that many murders here in nl...

dentist seems to be extremely boring after a while.... although you earn quite a lot, I doubt ill do that....

lol, this makes me dont wanna be a dentist for sure now....

so what have you studied?? Seems like all stuff are boring to you :p

I've visited the open day of pharmacy.... man..... from what I've had heard... it sounds extremely boring....

But thanks for the ideas :D

I'm studying what your "main subjects" are right now - sciences. It's a lot of work, and challenging.

Where are you located, if you mind me asking...?

Here's some warnings about a science degree though:

To be honest, you won't get much out with a science degree. It's pretty much 'useless' in a practical sense. You spend all your time reading up textbooks, acquiring knowledge, doing science experiments, etc. Most people who graduate with a science degree don't even end up doing a "science-related" job. At most, a science degree can get you a job as a lab tech or research assistant, and that pays "decent". AND so, a Science Degree on its own is pretty much USELESS. That's why most people keep on studying. Some people will go into education and become science teachers. Or like what other people mentioned, you can aim for Med School, Dentistry school, Pharmacy, etc. -sweat

  13. hahahahaha... i've heard of that too... but that's not true...

If your scared of blood then just watch lots and lots of horror movies it helps you overcome the fear.
My friends a cop and the first time he saw a girl hacked into pieces from a robbery he just broke down cuz it was such a disturbing sight.
Afterwards he basically got all the horror movies he could get and watched them all, totally saturated himself in tht environment so to speak.
And now hes not afraid of bloody ppl or ppl cut up too lil pieces ^^

    you're becoming a hobo lol :D

Im probably studying in the netherlands... and I ain't gonna to do a job for money, its more about the fun and interesting parts...but thanks for the info though :D

I don't find horror movie scary, I can watch how people get cut in pieces, but I dont know, it seems to be very different from reality. During my internship I was allowed to watch 3 operation. I felt dizzy in 2 of those operation. One got her leg cut open and her dead veins were like torn out of her leg...when the dokters cut in the skin, it made 'plop' noise.... and then they just cut in the leg....I've never saw something like this before so detailed that it made me sick....the other operation was like a woman got bitten by a poisonous mosquito somewhere in africa, and her feet got eaten by the virus/bacteria, they had to cut the dead flesh away... so I had to chance to see it from half a meter and could seee all the details.... it made me sick also....

recently graduated with computer engineering degree. salary is good, and the job is never boring. If I could do school over, I would have chosen the same degree.

i don't think random people should give suggestions on what you should do for your career,...... you really have to try it out yourself before you jump into things........ my favorite place to think is at community college.... not university.......
but usually chinese parents feel like shit when their kids go to community college... i am sure mines felt that way too.... ahahahahaha
