My PC Pentium 4 1.80GHz 760MB of ram, 20GB HDD When I download using bitcomet, total speed only can reach up to 120 with broadband 1GB If I want to upgrade my PC by increase the ram may be up to 1GB ram, would it helps besides change to new PC? So, far, all the download file direct to my external hardisk not my local hardisk, my space left about 7GB, but why still slow? Sometimes, if I download fews file together, it will be very slow, even hang !!! Please advice
Errr.. I think a new PC would be a good solution?? Most new computers have a least 1 GB of RAM i think, RAM isn't that expensive nowdays.. plus 20 GB of internal HDD isn't that much lol A faster processor would definitely help, like a core duo
whoaa yeh re-vive this thread.....-bigclap....was gonna make one of these teem.....^^... but yeh whats everyones comp/lappy stuff... as i wanna know if my comp is really old...as it feels due for a new one but if still kinda new im a leave it then.... well i bought one of them bigger usb thingies to store things as my comp was getting slow so moved lots a things to that big usb nows...and made more room on the comp...but but but apparently i was ripped off as the usb thingie is like chiew old.>.<
pentium D 2.4ghz 1gb ram 360gb hhd + 500gb external 7600GT sony dvd burner 19" Widescreen logitech x530 laptop core duo 2ghz 120gb hdd integrated graphics..-_- 1gb ram it does the job wat r ur specs? might not need an upgrade.. if u can run everything now.. there's not realyl any point? vista is still full of bugs.. think service pack one is coming out start of next year. and about linux... yeah it has alot of compatibility problems, i use it for programming at uni. All the comps in programming labs use it. if ur a programmer limux would be the way to go but for most ppl windows would be better

There can be a variety of issues why your pc is slow. It is not only based on specs. Keeping a system clean physically and software wise can improve speed. You can start by doing a full virus scan, spyware scan, cccleaner scan etc. There could even be a program loaded on your system that is causing the issue. From the specs you gave, your system seems fine for average use and downloads. Now, when referring to downloading. You have a hell of a lot of factors to consider. These ranges from seeders, router config, isp limitation etc. Knoc
