As per many commenters on TechCrunch, I don't think this OpenSocial concept will turn the tide in terms of actual USER registration (FB vs. Everyone else) as apps are, well, just apps. I am sure FB users can live without a few apps (although that may cut down the amount of fun on FB) but convincing ALL your friends to join the OTHER networking site (just because they have some oh-so- cool apps)? One Herculean task.
nice move by google going open source. with the money they can afford to invest..who knows how far this will go.
Just curious. Do you actually TAKE PART in those social networking sites Knoc? But yeah, the budget Google can pull can trump any potential competitors... But still, FB has its followers (who couldn't care less about apps)
Don't be so sure... He (assuming it's a HE there) may have a MySpace account with 97,820,734 friends without you knowing -devil And what is the difference to you as a non-user/programmer?
i would have to say more input from the public to have to have specific apps made. voting and what note for a particular app. since its open, more can contribute and make things that the majority would want to see and use.
