Jeez, this is going to get bad for the Canadian economy. if the U.S. drops any further, their recession is just going to leak back here and cause us problems... It's already causing enough chaos in the manufacturing sector.
meh oh well, as long as i get all my clothes and electronics from the states before that happens im fine.
wowow....107....against usd... i guessed at 106....think it is going to go up even more now...maybe to 115....hehe http://news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/To...mid=CTVNews/20071102/unemployment_rate_071102
Someone care to explain to me why is gas skyrocketing even though CDN is going strong against USD? /rant
cant really explain that .... my guess is that there are greedy buisness ppl around..and .transport/tax/customs fees...etx...like the oil is refined in the states so when it comes over the border cdn gets hammer ... yea. I freak when I saw 1,56 per liter one time....it aint that bad now,,,about 1,04. in quebec...it does go to 97 sometimes some analysts are predicting it to go to 100 bucks per barrol...in terms of usd...110...i think I will convert some cdn at that time...
I did notice that gas in Quebec is usually more expensive than Ontario, any idea why? Extra tax or something, perhaps? But who actually needs a car in MTL... if you are living along the Metro line -tongue2
the greedy quebec govt...taxing more ... for a while, the gas price was bout the same,,,at least when I pass through ottawa...etc... yea...wish i live near the subway lines...parking is a pain...especially downtowm...shows that you lived in quebec before cause of the word metro ... when i was in the states and HK, they called it something else
I guess the Quebec government collect the tax for social programs? NYC calls that Metro, UK calls it The Tube, HK calls it MTR, Japan calls it JR depending which system you are referring to No metro in MTL can be a pain... Thus the notion of living downtown at any cost
hm i was thinking of crossing over to buffalo's banana republic for this $400 jacket i always wanted... just created an ebay account too
it will continue to go up i think...but it is a risk...it will go down again i think....wont lose much even if it goes up...didnt exchange a whole lot....might even be 1.30 next aug...but hey...i might get rid of it before it gets that far...or even exchange it back to CDN if need be... yep.....
just came across this, bit more detail of what i was saying. On September 15th, 2007, the London Times featured a story which shook the White House. Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan openly declared that the prime motive for the war in Iraq was not terrorism, but oil. Clearly, it is a war of economics. Simply stated, when the United States went off from the gold and silver standards, it had no backing for its dollar. Thus, the United States Government made a deal with OPEC, the oil producing nations. The United States would supply military protection and other incentives to certain OPEC nations, if OPEC would accept nothing but U.S. dollars for payment of oil. This went on for decades; and the nations of the world, including Russia, Red China, all of Europe, and elsewhere, were forced to use ever-inflating U.S. dollars or they couldn't buy OPEC oil. One evil man, whom we supported in all of his evil doings, turned on the United States and started accepting Euros as payment for oil. This man was the leader of the second largest oil producing country in the world. That man was Saddam Hussein of Iraq! If Saddam Hussein persisted and others in OPEC followed his lead, the rest of the world would no longer need American dollars to buy oil and the Euro and other major currencies would rise against the U.S. dollar. Iran is also being set up as an enemy for the same reason Iraq was invaded by occidental powers, particularly the United States. On July 13th, 2007, Iran informed Japan that they do not want U.S. dollars in payment for oil. Iran is requesting that all payments be made with Japanese yen.
Thanks for the update, I have been waiting for this So Iran isn't only at war with US physically, but also economically? Hmmmm, curious and ingenious indeed.
ROFL...they should be requesting for canadian dolllars!!!!...haha... actually, Canadian also produce crude oil...they only dont refine it,,, thanks li ga sheng...the hk billionaire and his goons,,,we have husky the oil company..
