ye, go to fortress, or just go to mongkok, there is a street there with a lot of shops there next to each other that sells a lot of camera stuff

is camera stuff actually cheaper in asia though? if you are buying brand name like canon or nikon the retail prices should be similar to north american ones correct?

It is cheaper and you get the models that are not available here.

Best place to look at cameras would indeed be Mong Kok (building is Sin Tad). There's also Sum Shui Po (street) where there are a congregation of electronic stuffs at a good price (mind you that you would need to compare prices beforehand).

    The_Jelly NSFW? :P

It took my almost 2 hours to get the best deal for my computer. Its not really worth the effort IMO. But if you're not in a hurry, you're bound to find some good deals.

^ Keep in mind that we are not locals. If you are a tech savvy in HK, you would definitely know the backdoors to all the cheapest places to get parts. -lol

well most things are alot cheaper.
i live in australia, and the last time i went over to HK and purchased a camera it cost me 200 AUD for a 10MP camera.
where as if i were to buy it here, i would have paid at least 500 (and thats a 8MP).

anyways, im looking for lenses, and a flash gun for my dSLR
I know where you guys are talking abt, but is there any dodgy places where i can go?
i heard you can get factory outlet equipment with no warranty for 50% off

What kind of camera and price range are you looking at?

I think the best person to help you out on this would be Taxloss. Taxloss might know where is the best location in HK to get what you are looking for.

Oh Taxloss, where are you? -smileb
